Description
Tower Bridge spans the Thames River in the heart of London. Often mistakenly called London Bridge, which is in fact its upstream neighbor, Tower Bridge takes its name from the nearby Tower of London ... Read more
fortress. The bridge has become an iconic London image due to its impressive design and beautiful paint job(red, white and blue) which dates from the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977. Within the bridge hides The Tower Bridge Experience, and exhibition detailing the history and mechanics of the structure. Great views of the bridge abound from all directions, but it is truly spectacular at sunset.

If you’ve waited your whole life to visit London then this is a must-see. But like the Eiffel Tower the irony is that once you’re on it you lose what makes it significant.

A far walk from other things, it is still one of the most impressive bridges in London and beautiful.

This bridge is amazing. Not only it is a famous London postcard but the history and details about it is impressive. It took eight years to build the bridge, 1886 to 1894. And if you like history checking out the tower exhibition is a great option.

An absolute marvel in London! There's also a great park right under the bridge that typically hosts events.

Another must-see icon of London. The bridge is as famous as the city itself, but beware of the massive crowds.

London is a city with many iconic landmarks and Tower Bridge is certainly one of them. Opened in 1894, it spans the Thames close to the Tower of London. Visitors can explore the bridge's structure and enjoy spectacular views.

Tower Bridge is a very famous monument all over the world. Built around 1880 it is made up of twobig towers connected at the top by two pedestrian walkways, 44 meters above the river, which are now hosting a permanent exhibition. The bridge opens to let big ships pass through. There is an hydraulic system to make it work. This bridge appears in many films and in my opinion is a must see in London ( in fact it is almost impossible to miss it)

St Katherine's Dock is just below Tower Bridge with great bars and restaurants. The walk, to the West, along the river, in front of the Tower of London, is a lovely way to see the historical side of this City. With the "Traitor's Gate" boat entrance.
I remember, as a child, seeing a picture of this bridge opening – lifting upwards – as a bus was crossing. Luckily there was no disaster and the bus managed to drive over the gap before it got too wide! It still opens on occasions for tall ships to pass up the river.
To the East of Tower Bridge lies Wapping with it's famous High Street and the "Prospect of Whitby" pub overlooking the river.
To the South of Tower Bridge it is possible to walk west along the river to the "South Bank" with it's Theatres, Art exhibition Halls, National Film Theatre, and Music venues

Tower Bridge:
An iconic landmark. Possibly the most recognisable bridge in the world. Beside the mighty Tower of London, from which it gets its name.

This is an iconic bridge! It's really cool and stately. You can walk across and take it all in. It's best at sunset fur the views of the city and the Thames. Heads up, it gets windy though!
