Went up the shard with my children and it was fantastic. There were two lifts to get you to the viewing area then you can walk up slightly higher but it was cold right at the top so we went back down to where the glass protects you.

Expensive but glad we have done it.

Apparently you can go up the mobile building opposite to a secret rooftop garden for free, so will look into doing that next time!

Gorgeous views of London from the top of the Shard. They do a silent disco event on Saturday evenings too!

The Shard is a very impressive and imposing building. When leaving the tube at Tower Bridge the Shard dominates the skyline.

Views of London City from the tallest point in London. Have a swanky cocktail or go for a meal whilst the city lies beneath your feet...

London's highest and best view is situated at the top of The Shard, on floors 68, 69 and 72.

Amazing views, but worth to book a dinner at the restaurant or breakfast or even a drink at the bar, then paying the entrance for the viewing gallery..

The ticket is a little bit expensive ( almost 25 pounds), but the view from the top of the Shard is something really spectacular. I reccomend to buy the tickets before so you won't have to wait and you can choose the moment of the day you prefer. Go there at the sunset: you'll see the sun going down, while the lights of the city start to sparkle. :)

Best view of the city. Although you have to pay, and it can get crowded in the summer.

£25 pounds for a ticket is pretty steep, but the views are pretty much unparalleled given it's London Bridge location.

The Shard, also referred to as the Shard of Glass, Shard London Bridge and formerly London Bridge Tower, is an 87-storey skyscraper in London that forms part of the London Bridge Quarter development.

I was pleasantly surprised by the bar at the shard and with the family enjoyed a few cocktails in a calm surrounding with amazing simple design and of course the best views of London. I am not a fan of the shard but from here you don't see it blighting the London skyline!

Great new skyscraper at London bridge. The viewing lounge is majestic and there are plenty of good eats around. Best viewed on a clear day, but then you know that!

The Shard is an 87-storey pyramidal glass structure located at the top of London Bridge station. Currently it is the tallest building in European Union, standing approximately 306 metres high. It was designed by an Italian Architect, Renzo Piano and took about 3 years to built starting from March 2009 until March 2012. The building is divided into 5 logical sections. They are from the bottom to the top, respectively, the Offices, the Restaurants, Shangri-la Hotel, Residences and the Viewing Gallery. The Viewing Gallery would probably the most attractive place to go for visitors as it will give you 360 degrees unobstructed, 40-mile view of London Skyline and beyond. Tickets for the viewing gallery costs, at the time of writing, £29.95 for adult and £23.95 for child (4-15). Renzo Piano said about his creation: "This is my vision: I foresee the tower as a vertical city, for thousands of people to work in and enjoy, and for millions to take to their heart."

I didn't get the chance to up to the top but that was a nice view from the other side of Thames River. I was told that Shard Tower is the highest tower in Eastern Europe. Very interesting! :)

I watched the Shard being built online and I was still amazed by it when I got to see it in the flesh.

I could list all 200 points of interest that are viewable from the Tell:Scopes in the viewing platform of The Shard - mainly because it was my job to source, research, and write about them!

A bit of selfless promotion, but it's worth a trip up to have a look through them, I guarantee you'll learn something new about London. I did.

Tallest building in EU with UK's highest observation deck, still under construction. Renzo Piano is the architect.
