Amazing view, slightly above average food. If it's your first time, you have to get the eponymous duck & waffle entre.

The Scoop:

Duck and Waffle is known in London, quite possibly around the world. It's located on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower building in East London. The food is a mix of British and European cuisines with a twist. Everything is prepared fresh as they are open 24/7, 365. You can literally come to Duck & Waffle whenever, no excuses.

The Ambiance:

Not so fast! Before you start planning your outfit and Instagram captions, Duck & Waffle is by reservation only. I'd heard this before after living in London, but I didn't know exactly how serious they were. Let me tell you, they mean it. We were stopped by a velvet rope and a beautiful man with an iPad guest list. Spots fill up quick, so book days ahead.

We're ushered around to the elevators where we step into a glass box, with city views of course. Before I know it, we're here. We walk into a slightly hipster bar area with vibe music and omg, we're really far up.

As we walk further, past the bar, we enter Duck & Waffle. A casually elegant and chic restaurant that will make you feel brand new. The service is impeccable. We didn't go thirsty for one second before our waiter was there refilling our wine glasses. The table and food presentation was flawless from start to finish.

The Food:

So what should you order at Duck & Waffle? Glad you asked. For starters, order their artisan fresh breads. We loved the Rosemary & Garlic and Maple Glazed Cornbread with Harissa Yoghurt. The rosemary & garlic was fresh and soft. The Maple Glazed Cornbread was a mix of flavors. SO GOOD. Sweet, yet spicy, because of the Jalapeño sprinkled on top. The yoghurt sauce on top was also slightly sweet, without being overpowering.

Do yourself a favor and order the Roasted Brussel Sprouts. They are slightly crispy and cooked in a tangy orange, soy sauce that makes your tastebuds holler. They're accompanied by peanuts and crispy shallots for some extra crunch.

For the main meals, I ordered the Duck & Waffle. Crispy Duck Leg. Yum. Fluffy Waffle. Yum. Fried Egg + Syrup. Double Yum. I am so glad that I ordered this entree. It was perfectly crispy and all of the flavors worked together to create a rich, sweet and savory dish.

My sister ordered the Jerusalem Artichoke Ravioli with caramelized cauliflower and brown butter crumble. It was saucy and delicious.

I'm so glad that we visited Duck & Waffle. It's the perfect place to come for a celebratory meal with friends or a lover. It's beautiful and will make any night extra special. Big shoutout to the bartender who snapped some amazing pictures for us.

Super gorgeous view and overall great ambiance. It's nearly impossible to get a seat between 8am--10pm but have no fear since it's open 27/6! That's right- splendid views of London anytime.

Great food in a stunning atmosphere. A good variety of dishes however based on location expect to pay extra for a premium dining experience. A window side table is a must!

My favourite late dining in London! Walk in here at 3 am and you'll think it's a normal 8 pm meal. The Colombian eggs, brownie sundae, and signature duck and waffle are all amazing. The elevator ride alone makes it worth a visit!

It is open 24hrs! One of the few places you can go after midnight. The place is a little crowded but I liked the atmosphere. There is a bar in front of the restaurant and you can wait there until your table is ready. I had my first Duck and Waffle here!

My all time favourite brunch place (also a great restaurant). Totally worth every penny - amazing panoramic view and deliciously filling food. Top score! Also open 24x7!

What do you think about having dinner at the highest restaurant in the UK? That's what Duck & Waffle is all about! The restaurant is located on the 40th floor of Heron Tower, the 3rd tallest building in the UK (https://www.gogobot.com/heron-tower-london-attraction). The restaurant has got it's own entrance just next to the building's main one. From here you can take the high-speed lift which will take you directly to the top. Since the lift is on the exterior of the building and the wall is all made of transparent glass, you can gradually see the expanse of London City landscape as you dizzingly rise to the destination. If you have problem with heights, please don't look outside.
The restaurant itself is divided by 2 sections, the bar and the dining room. So basically if you are not planning to eat, you could just stay in the bar for a drink or two. Actually if you want to visit just to look at the scenery and take some photos from above, I would recommend the bar.
But if you want to sample the menus that's ok too. The foods are actually very nice. I tried the Duck & Waffle (£17) last time I was there. Yes, it's not just in the name, there is actually a dish called the same :) The signature dish is pretty nice. My wife tried the Seabass (£36), that's nice too, though a bit too sour for my taste.
Finally, yes the view is breath-taking! It's well worth-it just to go up there and have a relaxing drink watching the city goes by underneath you. Try to go there on Sunset or Sunrise, or in the night, the restaurant is open 24/7!

The nearest Tube Station is Liverpool Street Station. For more info check out: http://duckandwaffle.com/

The views are amazing over London and the lift is fun too - feels like a theme park ride! The food is quite rich although their signature 'Duck and Waffle' dish is very yummy. The cocktails are great too! It's 24 hours so you can come early and watch the sunrise whilst eating breakfast!

This is a 24-hour restaurant that serves good food. Need I say more?! It is a sister restaurant of Sushi Samba in Heron Tower. It often gets the spilt over guests from Sushi Samba, but I have to say it is a really good restaurant of its own right.

Since it is on top of the Heron Tower, you can have a great 360 degree view of the city. It has a nice cocktail bar as well. The best time to go there, in my opinion, is after party at around 2-3 in the morning. Don't think you can get in without a problem in the wee hours of the morning. You will be surprised at the number of night owls showing up at this joint. The bouncers always make you wait if you don't have a reservation.

Don't be deterred. It is well worth the trouble. A nicely cooked duck leg with an egg on top sitting on a waffle at 3am is just divine. Oh, you have to pour the maple syrup with mustard seeds all over everything. I am already planning on doing this during summer months. You can enjoy great food while watch the sun rise above London. That must be a glorious sight.

Go early as it can get v crowded. Great views. Signature dish is tasty if a little contrived. But on a clear day, this is worth it for the views and the mimosas!

The Duck and Waffle has been on my tick list for a while now and having recently been to SushiSamba my expectations were indeed as high as the 40th floor, where the restaurant is located!

I can confirm with no hesitation whatsoever that expectations were met, indeed surpassed. Not much to say about the views, just stunning (even on an overcast day).

The food is as adventurous as I've seen in a while and those who are looking for a new experience will be thrilled with the menu and the taste/quality of food.

I'm guessing the menu changes monthly, so if you are going in September I can highly recommend the crispy pig ears, bacon wrapped dates and pollockmeatballs.

The dilemma came in choosing a main course; steak, fish or the signature duck and waffle? As this was my first visit, it had to be the duck and waffle. Suffice to say, innovative, substantial and just damn tasty!

My party of 5 were celebrating a birthday, so following the self-indulgence of ordering a delicious dessert (the Torrejas), we were then treated to a 'birthday cake' from the house, which was very much appreciated and a very professional touch.

A special mention for our waiter Andre who was attentive and helpful. What a thoroughly nice chap!

So what's left to say, nothing much other than given the location, experience and food the Duck and Waffle is excellent value for money, I can't wait to go back again and I wish I could give it a 6 star rating.

Well done guys, you've absolutely nailed it!

Would be great were it not filled with tourists and WAGs. And do not order the fish appetizer, it's super salty.

High up in the Heron Tower in East London, this restaurant is famous for it's stunning views over the city of London.

The view alone is worth the visit. The food isn't bad either, and not quite as pricey as you'd think. Open 24hrs, so you can go there for an uber-early breakfast and watch the sunrise.

I loved the food, definetly order the duck and waffle that is duck, waffle, fried egg and syrup, a combination of savoury and sweet. Great views that look down on top of Gherkin when in the waiting bar.

My girlfriend is a bit scared of the elevator!
