The hotel is perfect for a business trip or a romantic get away in London . Very trendy but without an attitude . Service was very professional . Rooms size are reasonable for London . Must visit the hidden bar

Hip, modern and not outrageously priced, but rooms are smallish and cramped. Better for a tryst than a business trip. But if you're playing that game, stick with the Ritz or Savoy.

This hotel is pure design luxury. Philippe Stark designed from the furnishings to the door handles and right in the middle of London on St. Martin's Lane.

You are a stone's throw away from theatreland and Soho and a short walk from the river at Charring Cross but if you don't want to go far the hotel has the tranquil Light Bar and their restaurants Asia de Cuba and Cafecito. Personally I would take have a glass something lovely in the Light Bar and then take to the streets for all London's West End has to offer.

A friend of mine was put up here by her work and I got to tag along for an evening. The bar is FABULOUS and anyone can sip a cocktail in a very modern and posh environment. The rooms are roomy by Euro standards. Very nice!

This hotel is the COOLEST ever!!!! Located steps from Covent Gardens, Trafalgar Square, Piccadily Circus and the Leicester Square tube station, made it the ideal spot.

The staff was AMAZING!!!!!!! Ed greeted me as soon as I arrived. While Spike, the charming bellman, grabbed my bags, I realized I didn’t have enough cash to pay the taxi. No problem. Ed offered to pay the taxi and bill it to my room. I’M GOING TO LOVE THIS HOTEL!!!!! Love it I did. Simon hooked us up with a great corner room that was away from the busy street noise and had great city views. I had my office area to work, without disrupting my friends. The spa bathroom was stocked with Malin & Goetz products and plush towels. Delicious!

Need a reservation? Tube directions? Yoga? Dino – The Concierge will hook you up. LOVE HIM!!! When he’s not on duty, see Alex.

Don't forget to check their online special offers. I got 20% off for staying 4 days. Cha-ching!!

A more modern feeling option is The St. Martins Lane Hotel located in Covent Garden, which is a quick walk to Leicester Square. It is tucked away behind the theater district and offers all the energy you might find in Leicester Square but is in a more quaint location. The hotel also boasts one of the best restaurants in all of London: Asia de Cuba. It is pricey but worth the expense as it gives you that uniquely modern London feel; think James Bond or a Guy Ritchie film.

I have stayed here a few times and really like it. The public spaces are lovely and, unlike many Schrager properties, the rooms and staff are nice too. The in-house bar draws a good crowd. Probably not as hip as it used to be but certainly worth a visit.

I don't recommend Asia de Cuba.

This is definitely on the hip end of London hotels. As you can expect with any London hotel, the rooms are not very big by American standards, but are very comfortable. There are fun art sculptures all over the lobby and a lot of the furniture doubles as art or at least a conversation piece. Located in the theatre district, the location is also very conducive to going out and enjoying what London has to offer.

The food at Asia de Cuba (the restaurant in the lobby) is very good, although after a week of eating there every day for the conference I was attending there, I had my fill! Also, expect high prices, as it's London and a hotel restaurant AND it's super hip...

Fun fact: the toilets here are really hard to figure out. Discussion of how exactly to trigger the flush mechanism was a long topic of conversation among me and my colleagues!

love Asia de Cuba at this hotel. The bar scene is hit and miss. For those who like the minimalist style the rooms are pretty fun.

Mixed feelings about this hotel. The location was wonderful, and the service was very friendly. The concierge was amazing and was able to get us amazing seats to a sold out show and suggested great restaurants as well. The negatives would be the rooms. Tiny rooms, uninspired design. We also had some issues with housekeeping but management was quick to apologize and make amends.

It's a nice hotel, but by the I was most impressed with the minimalism that is rampantly displayed everywhere. It kind of reminds me of the standard hotels back in LA.. except that everything in the room was white. I just wish I had more time to spend inside, but alas, when traveling abroad, the room is the last place I try to be. But the time I did spend in the room was pleasantly spent sleeping in their comfortable beds.

The company I worked for put me up in the St. Martin's lane several times, and this Ian Schrager/Philippe Starck designed masterpiece is like walking into a modern museum of art. Every detail, every touch is carefully rendered. With kaleidscope lighting in your room (allowing you to set your mood - from blue to pink to green), the Asia de Cuba restaurant, which truly is top class, and a perfect location near Leicester Square, St. Martin's is high falutin living for high faluting folks. You won't forget a stay here anytime soon!

This hotel is very average. The food is good, as it's Asia de Cuba, but I don't recommend eating there more than once. The customer service is okay, but not the best considering how expensive it is! The rooms are decorated IKEA-style, is really modern and isn't that quaint (if that is what you are looking for). There are much better places to stay in London!

It's been around for awhile now but still has a contemporary feel. Rooms are small and minimalist but with everything you need. Great toiletries in the room. Better cocktails downstairs

Hip hotel in Covent Garden, walking distance to Soho, the theater district, the national gallery and Picadilly Circus. Beds are comfortable, but the rooms/desk are too small for a good business hotel, which is what I needed. The hotel aims to be cool, and sometimes it feels like it is trying too hard, with strange art films and techno music playing in the dimly lit elevators. That said, it has a great bar, a very good restaurant (Asia de Cuba), is home to the legendary Bungalo 8, and is good fun for the hipster set
