The Royal Liver Building dominates the Liverpool waterfront and is the most iconic building in the city. I first became aware of the building as a child when I used to watch the tv sitcom, The Liver Birds, and a shot of it was included in the opening sequence. Seeing it for myself brought back memories of that era. Occupied by offices within, the Grade I listed building is worth a look for its magnificent architecture.

The Royal Liver Building is a historical landmark in Liverpool situated on Pier Head. It is home for two fabled Liver Birds that stand watch over the city and River Mersey. Originally built as the HQ of the Royal Liver Assurance Group, today it houses numerous tenants amongst them ITV and HSBC.

Gorgeous building on the waterfront and a landmark of Liverpool. This building makes up a third of the Three Graces, a collection of architecturally impressive buildings in the city. Not open to the public but plenty to see from the outside.

In my short time in Liverpool, I wanted to see the Liver Building, but knew I didn't have the time because of having to get back to South Wales that day. However, I was incredibly glad to have got lost in the car to have this huge building right in front of me after coming out of one of the junctions alongside Albert Dock. It is a very impressive building and I'd love to come here to have a proper look at it!

No building is more synonymous with Liverpool than the Royal Liver Building, topped by twin statues of the city's emblem, the liver bird. A walk along the docklands waterfront takes in not only the Liver Building, but also the neighbouring, and equally aesthetically pleasing, Cunard and Port of Liverpool buildings; the trio are known collectively as the three graces. The area is alive with things to do, including numerous museums, the Tate Liverpool and the historic Albert Dock.

The Royal Liver Building was opened in 1911 (3 year before World War I) and up until the mid-thirties it was the largest building in Europe. Interestingly, It was the largest building in the Uk up until 1961.

One of the major landmarks of Liverpool with its neighbouring companions (the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building) known as the Three Graces. Best viewed from the river
