The part of Lima that feels a bit less like a city, this oceanside neighborhood is know for its artsiness and is true with the Lima in general there is some great food to eat here.

Barranco is one of Lima's best districts. It is where you'll find new hotels and art galleries in restored historic mansions, trendy coffee shops next to traditional restaurants, street art giving life to faded street scenes. This is a fun district to explore on foot, though I recommend doing so during the day -- there are some not-as-nice parts of town that it's best not to wander into at night.

I've heard Barranco described as the Brooklyn of Lima. It's hip and very popular with a well-to-do crowd. The bar scene here is quite impressive. The architecture is stunning. There's a lot to love!

Barranco is Lima's bohemian neighborhood bordering Miraflores. It is the place where most people go clubbing, but it's also got lots of cafe's and restaurants and is super chilled out. It's almost like a village in the middle of a metropolis of 11 million. On the weekends food vendors line a pedestrian street and cook up some wonderful local dishes. Relax, get a cup of coffee, take a stroll, you are in Barranco!

Nice coastal district of Lima. It used to be a fishing village and Lima suburb, but Lima kept growing. It has a very romantic feel with nice colonial architecture and easy access to the Pacific Ocean.

Lima's answer to San Telmo in Buenos Aires. At one time the place where the wealthy built summer houses, then a micro capital of bohemian artists and now once again colonised by upmarket restaurants, hotels, galleries and cafes. Given that slum dwellings or characterless business areas are a prominent feature scarring the rest of the Peruvian capital, this area offers a more genteel and correspondingly less edgy side of the city. A good, and on the whole, safe base for exploring Lima.

The bohemian district of Barranco is where artists and designers spend their day among weathered, colonial mansions. By day, it's sleepy and nostalgic. By night, it's the nightlife hub of Lima. Barranco may feel rough around the edges, but make no mistake - there's a romantic air here and it doesn't take long to discover it's charm.

Barranco and Miraflores are two very beautiful "suburbs" of Lima that have retained their colonial charm. Many of the Barranco homes date back to the late 19th century, yet they don't look rundown in the least. If you're visiting Lima, make sure you take time and experience Barranco.

Barrio Barranco is a wonderful district in Lima that has a really cool and laid back vibe. There are numerous restaurants and lounges in the area branching out from the main plaza. Most noted walk way is the Bajada de los Baños which leads visitors from the main plaza down to the cliffs to the beach. Along the way of this easy walkway are more restaurants and lounge/bar choices.

This was hands down one of the best nights out of my life. When we arrived there was a live blues band playing in the square. Then we hit up the bars. The nightlife is amazing here, and the bars are all close together and linked by beautiful old streets. Definitely go here if you're looking for a night out in Lima.

Barranco is the new bohemian hype neighborhod of Lima. For many years it concentrated artists and musicians, but these days it has evolved to a design oriented type of business, with lots of new fashion designers, art galleries and design boutiques. The nightlife in Barranco is also one of the best, mixing Latin rhythms to electronic music.
