I didn't stay at the lodge but enjoyed the activities on a day tour. Zip-lining, a huge jungle water slide, horse back riding, a buffet-style lunch, the lush landscape and views, and most of all.. the natural sauna, volcanic mud bath, and hot springs! Such an amazing place, near the Liberia airport.

We came for a day to do the natural hot springs, waterslide, lunch, and zipline. It was a great group activity. We had a group of about 25 and it was $50 per person including lunch (we had someone in Tamarindo get us a deal - we heard prices can be as high as $145 per person which is ridiculous).

There are several pools of the hot springs with different temperatures and they are great for relaxing and hanging out.

The water slide is awesome - you have to wear a helmet to go down it! You can go as many times as you want.

The lunch was buffet style and was really good - salad, rice, beans, pork, chicken, fried plantains, yucca, juice, cookies.

The zipline has 10 different lines. They also have an option of walking a hanging bridges tour if you don't zipline - it's 16 bridges all built between trees.

It was definitely a fun day with lots of activities.

Buena Vista is the premier place to zipline in Costa Rica. The road to the lodge is rugged and it's hard to believe that paradise can be at the end of the road! The lodge is basic, comfortabe and clean and sits in a lovely setting overlooking magestic mountains and a sublime rainforest. There is horseback riding, awesome ziplining, thermal baths, a waterslide that jets down the side of the mountain, gift shops, and 2 wonderful bars. One opens in the evening only, perched on the side of the mountain to enjoy the most beautiful sunset you have ever seen. The other is octagon shaped and built entirely of wood, one of my favorite bars in Costa Rica. Only one restaurant is present in the lodge and serves tipacal Costa Rican food. Others are a short drive back down the mountain.
