Of all the "budget" hotels on property, this is definitely the nicest one. Has less of a wal-mart feel. More like the target of the resorts. Don't forget to hit the pool.

This fairly new hotel is the stuff vacation dreams are made of. Inexpensive and chock-full of fun recreational activities, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is ideal for anyone who wants to turn back the clock for a weekend.

The whimsical hotel includes themed rooms which feature – you guessed it – famous Disney cartoons. Even more exciting are the Art of Animation’s three swimming pools: the Cars-themed Cozy Cone Pool, The Finding Nemo-themed Big Blue Pool and The Little Mermaid-themed Flippin’ Fins Pool.

Other activities include outdoor film screenings and an arcade. The resort offers numerous dining options, one of which allows pizza delivery straight to your hotel room!

This hotel is for the kid at heart – don’t miss it!

This is newest Disney hotel and it's amazing! It's ultra themed and features 4 separate lands: Finding Nemo, the Lion King, Cars, and The Little Mermaid.

We didn't stay at the hotel, we just came to look around which is totally worth it!

We asked the concierge what's best to see and he let us know about all the wonderful sights on the property including the themed lands with larger than life statues... all scaled to the size of a featured character such as Sebastian from the Little Mermaid. Check out the gigantic Titan and Ursula!

Also, the concierge let us know about a tour they offer that takes you around the property and even gives you a peek inside one of the hotel rooms, which was a highlight of our trip! It's free and offered daily at 12:30 pm. It was amazing and we ended up being the only two people on the tour.

Our tour guide Stuart was incredible! He had such a breadth of knowledge and told us so much about the resort, Disney history, Disney and Pixel film history and was able to field any question we threw his way! He was remarkable and this was such a cool thing to do!

The rooms are ultra themed too. The Cars land family suite has a car wash themed mirror in the bathroom and traffic cone lights that you have to "roll over" or step on to turn on, because cars can't turn on a switch. Everything is thought of to the last detail!

They also offer free animation drawing classes open to the all, 3x a day at 11 am, 2 pm and 5 pm.

This would be an amazing hotel to stay at, but it's also wonderful just to have a browse around the property!

My home sweet home during my recent stay at Disney World.

We arrived at night and the visuals were just amazing.
From the entrance with their big colorful sign.
To the lobby which had sketches and colorful drawings on one side & brightly decorated registration desk
to the walkways and court yard of each of the 4 resort themes
And finally the rooms.
You're definitely in a Disney Resort.

Registration was a breeze. The only hiccup was the "Magic Bands" they gave us were all colored gray. I had requested (or should I say, my son assigned the color for each of us) a blue, red & pink one. My son was very disappointed!!
The magic band was important because it opened our room, paid for our purchases and got us into the theme parks.

We were in the Little Mermaid Resort. The rooms were smaller than what I thought they would be, but they worked out fine.

This resort only had one restaurant and it was basically four fast food stations serving a variety of dishes.

It had two pools, several laundry facilities (which came in handy), an arcade and of course a mini Disney Store.

Getting around to the four Disney Parks was easy. Buses ran to the theme parks at 20 minute interval and it was FREE.

I really enjoyed my stay and I would consider going back. Disney really knows how to give their guest, specially kids the Disney experience.

Art of Animation is one of several starter level Disney properties based upon the animation of Disney. It is perfect for families and younger kids will Love it. The best value on property.

Visit Radiator Springs, race around shiny life-size Cars, and stay in your very own Cozy Cone. Even if you are not familiar with the Disney Pixar movies, this new resort is revolutionizing the concept of a hotel, with amazing scenery that is executed in ways only Disney can. The Art of Animation Resort is designed around the art that has fueled happily-ever-afters for decades, from the rough sketches in the lobby to the tangible scenery outside. In the spirit of Disney theming, the details are locked in right down to the lamps and light switches in the rooms, which adds to the fun and gives you plenty to explore.

Although this hasn't officially opened, I was able to tour the resort earlier this month. Built next to Pop Century, the layout of the buildings follows the same pattern. But that is where the similarities end.
The theming of the resort is very well done. Opening first is the Finding Nemo phase. The outside of the other phases are mostly complete, so Disney is putting their best foot forward. (The Cars outside area is simply wonderful.)
The rooms are the same size and layout as Pop Century. But the animation touches make this a real escape.
My one complaint is the same I have for Pop. Both seem so far away from the rest of parks and resorts. And so far away from anything really.
