This was a very interesting stop on our cruise mostly for the history of Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary. It is a beautiful town but we didn't feel very welcome in the market we went to before boarding back on our cruise. I think it mostly had to do with the fact that we were a group of girls. I think I would go back one day to give it another shot since my visit was over 10 years ago.

Kusadasi is the usual summer destination of my family.
The lovely city offers an old center, shopping, local ice cream shops, wonderful Turkish food.
Hotels in Kusadasi are not luxury, the town is in middle price range, but it has great atmosphere and the big overseas liners have a stop at the Kusadasi airport.
The big craft market is a great evening fun and pigeon island and fortress impress everybody, dont miss it! Entrance is free of charge.

Nice port with great waterfront and shopping. Merchants are aggressive and it is exhausting engaging in conversation with them all. There are some merchants who even have signs that say NO Hassle. We looked for those signs after awhile. Still nice place. Good food. Good shopping. Nice architecture and well worth prowling around especially off the tourist trail.
