Great for the whole family! The NC Aquarium is a MUST SEE! Interactive, budget friendly and historic! Plan an entire day and visit the Fort Fisher Museum and the Carolina Beach Boardwalk with Brits Donuts while you are there! Now that;s a day at the BEACH!

Taking the Ferry is half the fun, while the Aquarium has a great mix of local sea and marsh land residents and exotic sea life. Best in spring to enjoy the gardens

This is a great place for young and old alike. It's a short 10 minute drive from our beach house and is a great way to spend a rainy day or to just get out of the sun for a few hours and stay cool. You'll see all sorts of fish, penguins, otters and don't miss the famous albino alligator.

Family fun at this ginormous indoor aquarium with sharks, eels, sting rays and a plethora of other fish. There are hands on exhibits and even an outdoor area.

One of the best aquariums for the money you'll ever see. It's just a few minutes from the house and especially great for something to do with the kids on a rainy day. Adults and teens will enjoy as well.

I love this aquarium. It might not be the biggest but it's pretty big and it's got a good variety of things. You should definitely go if your in town.

Fun activity for kids to take your car on the ferry from Southport for $5. Travel time is about an hour each way. If you decide to explore from there, you can drive up to Willimington and check out the beaches at Kure and Carolina Beach.

Great medium sized aquarium for the kids to enjoy! Head over to the town of Southport (30 minutes) and follow the signs to Ft. Fisher. Take the ferry over for the aquarium. It is best to look up the ferry schedule first to see departure times. This aquarium is much better than the one in Myrtle Beach.

A great place to go on a day when the kids are a bit sunburn. It's air conditioned! Don't forget to see the albino alligator!
