first three seasons of “Mad Men” on DVD for just $3. So where does one go to flirt with piracy and lawlessness? How about this infamous street in Kuala Lampur’s Chinatown. Don’t miss this place just because you count yourself among the morally incorruptible, though; there are still plenty of great restaurants, street food vendors, and legit goods for sale.

This is place is close to two temples, one Buddhist the other Hindu. I basically always go there for the Koon Kei wan tan mee, a very famous noodle shop among locals. it's very near a porridge stall, and you have to taste the Luo Hon Guo drink right near the centre of the junction, it's the best in town.

Petaling Street is also know as Flea market street. At night, it gets crowded with locals and lots of sidewalk style food stands.

This is a nice walking and shopping area very close to the Central Market area. Lots of local shops and restaurants. Well worth taking a stroll, also go on some of the side streets as well.

I once stayed at one of hostel on Petaling Street, I don't recommend this area for those who avoid the crowd and noise, especially at night, but I do recommend it for people who love buying various KL's souvenirs and having delicious food. Moreover, it's cheaper compare to the other touristy streets.

Home to lots of fake goods and stuff to buy. But once you can look past that, you will find loads of food outlets that have been there for years. Local cuisine at its glorious best.

Petaling Street is one of the cool night markets that you can go. Central Market is nearby. If you are into arts and crafts, and cheap stuff, this is the place to go. Need to take care though, there are a lot of pickpockets here.

Packed with loads of good food. Beware of some expensive stalls waiting to pounce on tourists. But if u know where to go, this place is awesome to get your food fix!

Today's Petaling Street, Chinatown KL is more touristy selling tourist twinkets but the fact that it is the original Chinese enclave in KL means the area is also full of history and stories of the original Chinese immigrants and migrant workers' struggle and triumph.

This place is set in the heart of Chinatown. If your looking for a deal you can find it here. But beware you can get hustled if you don't know what your looking for. Lots of fake merchandise here but... You'll have that in any major market.

If you like being harassed by stall owners and buying cheap Chinese style trinkets, then be my guest and walk into Petaling Street. This is the "Chinatown" of Kuala Lumpur. I walked in here because there was a close internet cafe nearby. I walked past the stalls to get there and was grabbed by guy trying to sell me God knows what.

The street is busy and packed with people most of the time.

You can find a ton of imitates here (even pirated DVDs that are illegal) sold by locals and mostly foreigners from country like Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and many others.

Local Chinese food are aplenty here. However, for many first timers and even locals, the surroundings of these food stalls are too dirty for them to finish what is on their plate.

Personally, I don't like it because it can get quite packed sometimes and some stretch of the road will have a strong smell coming from either rubbish piles or clogged drains.
