Wonderful view of the whole city of Key West. Very tight stairwell so wear walking shoes. Historic and definitely a landmark but not for someone with a cane or wheel chair !

Once located near the water, this Lighthouse is worth a short visit. The reward you'll reap from the climb of 88 steps to the top of the lighthouse is a stunning 360 degreee view of Key West. It is really a workout, but the view from the top is breathtaking. The museum itself is small but well kept.

If you can fend off the claustrophobia and don't mind heights, the climb up the tiny and constricting 88 steps to the top of the Key West Lighthouse is worth it for the views. Once you're up there though, be patient: According to past travelers, the viewing balcony at the top is very narrow. After taking in the views (a must, according to recent visitors), take a look around the keeper's quarters, which have been around since 1887. The cozy house is now a museum that surveys the history of lighthouses in the Keys, with photographs and various artifacts.

Key West Lighthouse Museum is in town on Whitehead street. The climbing up the stairs is available. You can visit the Lighthouse from the street. Disability access is limited due to the stairs of the Lighthouse. Time to visit from the street about 5 minutes.

Quiet and calm in the heart of craziness. Wonderful view of Old Town from the top of the light house. One of the best gift shops in town.

This lighthouse and keeper’s quarters, constructed in 1848, replaced the lighthouse destroyed in the Great Havana Hurricane of 1846. Its head keeper, the indomitable Barbara Mabrity, saw the lighthouse through the next three decades. Her story is a fascinating one. Now run by the Key West Art and Historical Society, the lighthouse and the keeper’s quarters serve as a nice little museum. Visitors can stroll through the lush grounds, enjoy interactive displays in the keeper’s quarters, and climb 88 iron steps to the top of the lighthouse for an unparalleled view of Key West and the ocean.

You'll be surprised when you see how far inland this is but I guess it shows how the key is always growing! Great view from the top and there is a great little museum as well.
