The southernmost city in the United States, Key West is truly a Caribbean paradise. Situated on a spit of land off of the southern tip of Florida, Key West is all about sun, fun, and the beach - even the ride to Key West over the ocean from Florida is quite the scenic journey. miles into the gulf towards Key West Island, where the shopping scene is much mellower than in Miami. The waters surrounding Key West are frequented by fishing charters, sunset cruises, and para-sailing opportunities for the adventurous crowd (college students flock here yearly during Spring Break.) Whether or not this is your game, after a few nights of parties consider hitting your brain’s “refresh” button by stopping at one of the many natural discovery museums or nature preserves, like the Butterfly Conservatory. The unique environment present on this isolated little strip is great for both the young and the young at heart.

Hurricane season (June - October) is also hot and muggy, so this is not the best time to visit. High season gets going as the weather in the rest of the country starts to tank, and lasts through early March. ... Read more
Expect to pay a pretty penny for hotels, and fight for restaurant reservations, while you battle the other mainlanders for space on sunny, 75 degree (24C) beaches. Spring is beautiful and while the temperatures creep up, the hotel prices let up, creating a perfect time to experience the Keys’ quirky vibe and Caribbean bliss -- without fear of losing a limb.

Good experience for all ages. Lots of walking! The day life is much more active than night life, and the people are amazingly diverse and kind without hesitation. Most places are very clean, and there is always something to do whether you’re on a budget or not.

Key West is an amazing island escape about 3.5 hours south of Miami. There is so much to do from enjoying the water sports to the nightlife on Duval street. I came for a long weekend trip from Miami and truly feel worlds apart.

Key West is one of my favorite little towns to visit, not so easy to get to but when you get there you can relax for a weekend and also enjoy the great seafood there. I must go back when there's a festival there.

Key West is a beautiful, warm and relaxing location to visit for singles, couples, or families. Having been there many times, I have had the pleasure of staying at different locations. If you are on a budget and can handle a campground, I would highly recommend the KOA camp resort. It is right there by the water, they have full facilities and even have a selection of activities. We were able to spend an entire week tenting by the water for less than $700. What a great trip for Key West! If you would like to stay in a great Bed and Breakfast, I would recommend the Key West Bed and Breakfast. Centrally located on Duval street and right down the road from the Historic Hemmingway house, it offers the quaint and charm of Key West Victorian style. Key West is suitable for everyone from those who want to go fishing to shopping to bar hopping to boat rides to the beach. The weather is perfect in Key West and definitely a feeling of being in the Caribbean. An absolutely amazing place!

I love Key West. It has fabulous restaurants with a huge variety of cuisines. Some of my favorites are Firefly, Blue Heaven, Seven Fish, Sarabeth's, Santiago's Bodega. Local bars are great. Check out The Porch, The Other Side and 2 Cents. The Reach Hotel has it's own private beach! Lot's to see and do for everyone. Go visit the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservancy, Hemingway House, Shipwreck Museum, Key West Aquarium, Mallory Square, etc. not to be missed are the beautiful sunsets from Pier House's Sunset Pier.

Key west has a culture of its own. With off beat foods and beaches to the mile. If you like hangng out and watch the waves roll in this is the place if Florida. Taking a boat ride and watching the sunset is amazing, the best i have ever seen. This place is a must. Rent a scooter to get around, cars and awkward in these small streets. Out of all of Florida, Key West if my favorite.
