I maybe partial because my son has taken classes at the Museum and the adjacent Kansas City Art Institute and is currently attending KCAI as a freshman. Their collections and buildings are amazing and so beautiful. A gem of KC!

One of my families favorite places to visit in Kansas City. Lots of history and amazing art work. There usually at least a couple local artists displayed here.

Always a KC favorite. Egyptian gallery, newly redesigned African Art gallery and Asian Art wings are highlights. Also, the temporary exhibits are worth checking out!

If I ever have guests from out of town, this is my #1 spot to take them! From the sculpture garden outside, to the thousands of historical pieces inside...it's amazing this museum is free of charge. It's an amazing way to spend a day.

Nelson Atkins Museum of Art has several floors of art to display. The art ranging from paintings, artifacts, sculptures, and statutes. Disability access is hard to located the entrance which is on the north-side area. Disability parking is provided by the north-side parking lot. there is lot of walking from the parking lot to side entrance. You will need at least 1 hour to 3 hours to visit the museum.

I love going to this museum! They have some great attractions and there is one section of the museum that has something different every time I go. This keeps it interesting and it also allows artists who are trying to get their stuff noticed. This museum houses not only some of the great masters, but also local talent. This is a great addition to your trip to Kansas City. If you want to teach your kids about art, or get them some exposure to it, this is a great place to visit.

Always cool stuff going on here. Bring a picnic and spread a blanket on the South lawn and throw a frisbee between the giant shuttlecocks. Also the Roselle Court is one of the most amazing luncheon venues. The architecture and the light are epic.

Great museum with a gorgeous sculpture garden and wonderful Asian art collection. Close to The Plaza. The new contemporary annex is exceptional.

I like going to this museum with my children. There is a wide range of exhibits, so I think there is something here for everybody. It is easy to drive to. I do not know about public transportation. The parking is easy and costs a small amount.

There have been very interesting temporary exhibits.

A jewel of Kansas City. Stroll around the sculpture garden, explore art from various times and cultures or have a gourmet meal in the Rozzelle Court. If you want to emerge yourself visit during one of their many special events days or take an art class in the studio area.

I love the Nelson and best of all it is free. Earlier this year I saw Monet's Water Lilies and it was amazing. It was the first time the three panels had been together in over thirty years. I look forward to returning to the Nelson often.

I love the Nelson Atkins Art Museum, right in the middle of middle America, because of its lovely collection of America art. That is not the only thing there, of course. There are many exquisite masterpieces from all over the world. But the American collection is very special.
