Located at the edge of the finger lakes in central New York, visitors come to Ithaca for a number of reasons - not the least of which are the prestigious Ithaca College and the Ivy League Cornell University. However, despite very much being a "college town," Ithaca is home to an eclectic range of both natural and cultural attractions: The Herbert ... Read more
F. Johnson Museum of Art has a solid collection of works and a beautiful view of the picturesque city itself from its fifth floor. The Cayuga Lake to the north is a popular place for large mouth bass fishing, and the surrounding forests are home to numerous scenic trails and campgrounds. If it's nightlife you are after, like any good college town, there's no shortage of places to partake in revelry here, and for shopping, there are both high end and moderately priced boutiques across the city.

Ithaca New York is gorges! (Pun intended. :) It's a great college town filled with waterfalls and scenic spots. As home to both Cornell University and Ithaca College, it has a nice cozy down-to-Earth vibe. Ithaca has loads of great hikes, walks, trails and camping spots nearby making it a wonderful jumping off point for outdoor excursions.

New York City

This upstate New York college town has deep hippie roots—it’s the home of legendary vegetarian restaurant Moosewood—but these are not your typical flower children. Come February, instead of celebrating Valentine’s, the town makes a big to-do over Charles Darwin’s birthday, in its Darwin Days. Thanks to the area’s Cayuga Wine Trail, Ithaca also scored in the top five for vino. Start your taste testing with Six Mile Creek, which uses grapes even for distilled spirits like its Chardonnay-based gin.

Ithaca downtown is always full of surprises. Walking down there on a Saturday afternoon, you can experience different art pieces. Street arts, galleries, craft shops....and a lot of good food too!

This place is full of gorges and waterfalls, and if you've ever wanted to see the world's best fall foliage, there's no place like it. Great food, great scenery and great people.

This is a small city in upstate/western NY that has a lot in a small area. The home of Cornell University (great campus to walk around), Ithaca College, falls, gorges and Cayuga Lake. As it is a college town a number of activities revolve around the various schools and events. It is one of those towns that you can come back to many times because things are always happening.

Ithaca is Gorges. That is the college town's slogan because the many gorges that dot the town are gorgeous! The four seasons here is very distinct. Cool springs, hot summers, colorful autumns, and COLD winters.
