Our last full day in Ishigaki brought us great weather, so we decided to take the public bus up to both Kabira Bay and Yonehara beach and just chill out (get the five day bus pass, it’s worth it if you take more than one bus line during the five days!). We’d heard that Kabira Bay was a ‘must visit’ location in Ishigaki, as it’s widely touted as one of the most beautiful locations in Japan. Besides looking good, it’s also famous for its black pearls, which is a bit of a bummer because it also means you can’t swim there! Instead, you can take a glass-bottomed boat out to the coral reefs that form a natural boundary between the azure lagoon and the deep blue sea, where you can see the gorgeous coral and fish that are in abundance in the area.

When you come to Ishigaki-jima, it is an indispensable tourist spot. Let's get lost for the time being. There are lots of parking lots around, so we are not in trouble where we stop the car. The parking lot which was nearest was still crowded. As you can imagine, sightseeing buses are always on standstill and there are many tourists. So, people enter everywhere. As expected, I think that the morning is good. There are places to eat rice in the neighborhood and souvenir shops, so you can just enjoy going to the spot.

Emerald green is beautiful in the northwestern Gulf region. Several beautiful islands float and the view from the observation deck is the breathtaking beauty. It is also convinced that it has been chosen as one hundred of Japan's sceneries. Arrive from the ferry terminal in about 40 minutes by car rental. There are also many souvenirs and so many tourists. Black pearl farming seems to be famous, and some shops sell black pearls. I can not recommend it to those who do not like the touristic atmosphere much.

Speaking of Ishigaki-jima sightseeing, for now tentatively. It is famous and popular spot, but it is definitely a scenery to see. Certainly there are many people, but the view of the bay where the high transparency water spreads is the scenery itself. Although it is the beauty about doubting the photograph when looking at guide book etc., even if it actually looks, the scenery which is almost the same spreads out in front of you. Popular activities are underwater observation on a glass boat.
