The former Kowloon barracks is a great respite from the crowds of Tsim Sha Tsui. There are paths, playgrounds, and swimming pool.

Kowloon park is an oasis in the middle of busy Hong Kong. Outside the park has many tall skyscrapers. Inside has many rest areas and animals to see.

Kowloon Park is a beautiful space to escape to when you need a break from Hong Kong's concrete jungle....the gardens, the lily ponds and the occasional cultural performances make it a great spot to spend a sunny afternoon.

Kowloon park is better than the Botanical Garden in HK island. A good place for family and friends who loves picnic.

Nice park, entrances from Nathan Road. Quite busy in the weekend. There is also a sports facility at the park where international games were organized. I once viewed a handball game between Iran & China; not typically a match which one could find in Europe :)

Though we only went into a very small part of it, it was a nice place to sit and rest a while!

Few areas of Hong Kong have a richer historical background than the Kowloon Walled City Park, originally the site of a walled fort.

Kowloon park is located right in Tsim Sha Sui metro A exit. You can't miss it; its enormous! The funny thing is that Hong Kong is a huge melting pot. Right at the Kowloon park entrance, there is an old Islamic Mosque. Really out of the ordinary considering this is HK. The park is neatly nestled in the hustle and bustle of Tsim Tsa Shui. The juxtaposition is interesting and representative of the welcoming nature of HK to foreigners. The park is bright green and cozy, while still being quite large. You can walk the whole park in maybe 25 minutes, but trust me you can also spend half the day lounging on benches, speaking with locals, having a small picnic or just taking pictures. Kowloon park is a great place to show the friends and family back home that although HK is skyscraper heaven, its also home to many species of animal and human.

Kowloon Park is a great place to sit, relax, and watch the world go by. Many people gather here on the weekend to socialize and enjoy the outdoors. The park is very large with grand, old trees, fountains, museums, and occasionally even some random sidewalk performances.
While wandering through the park, we heard drum beats and followed the sound to a traditional Chinese dragon dance. I've also heard there are kung fu performances but we didn't see one.

My advice: go with a picnic and people watch by a fountain and if you hear drum beats, follow them!
