This Chinese Pagoda was built to worship the Lady of the Sea and it´s an example of Chinese architecture mixed with some Vietnamese details. Even been located in a busy street of Saigon, the peace and the silence inside the temple was a surprise.

Thien Hau Pagoda was built in the 19th century and dedicated to the goddess Thien Hau. It regularly attracts both worshippers and visitors for its beauty and for its peaceful atmosphere. Here, incense coils are suspended overhead. and there are intricate ceramic friezes above the roof line of the interior courtyard. It is one of the most interesting places to visit in Saigon.

Thien Hau Pagoda is a Chinese Buddhist temple and is the main place of worship for the Buddhists, particularly for the Chinese community in Cholon. Cholon is the Chinatown of Saigon. The pagoda was made by the Chinese who also brought along their blocks and other structures by boat to help built the pagoda.

The 19th-century atmospheric Thiên Hậu Temple is one of the top attractions in Saigon's Chinatown (ChoLon) and one of the region's oldest Chinese temples. This impressive building, dedicated to the goddess of the sea, Thiên Hậu, is visited by local worshipers as well as tourists, and many of the materials used in its construction were imported from China. Incense clouds stream in the air, candles flicker on altars and sunbeams penetrate the pagoda roof as you enter the green wrought-iron gates and walk through the small courtyard. From here, visitors can see the altar with statues of the goddess and the intricate porcelain dioramas that adorn the roof and depict scenes from nineteenth-century Chinese life. According to legend, the goddess has left two turtles to guard the temple in their absence. On the 23rd day of the third lunar month, a parade takes place in the neighborhood with a figure of Thiên Hậu to rescue seafarers stranded on the high seas. Entry to the temple is free.
