This is a busy street in Ho Chi Minh City that is great for shopping for just about anything. There are several places to enjoy a local meal and it's a great street to walk down and stretch your legs. You'll find a lot going on here, just be careful to look both ways when crossing the street!

A fancier area of HCMC. Lots of French colonial architecture and upscale cafes. Very clean.

Great street for taking a walk! Very central, busy street in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh where there are a lot of shops and restaurants. Be careful when crossing the roads, and make sure you know how traffic works. This street is very close to a lot of tourist attractions, or the tourist attractions are located on the street! I definitely recommend taking a walk down this street!

Dong Khoi Street is definitely worth a visit. At the time of the French occupation, the street was called Rue Catinat and was the epicenter of glamor. During the Vietnam War, the street was known as Freedom Street, today it's called Dong Khoi, which means total revolution. Most of the time, Dong Khoi Street is a chic shopping street that does not seem to fit in with the overall picture of Ho Chi Minh City. But looking behind the luxury cars and expensive shops, you can still see a lot of impressive colonial buildings. This is also where you will find the Continental Hotel, known from Graham Greene's The Quiet American. The best way to get from the southern end of the road on the Saigon River to the north. In this way you can admire, among other things, the opera, the Caravelle Hotel and the post office, before you reach the no less impressive Notre Dame Chapel on Pariser Platz. A great walk!
