Fun, outdoor market on the pier in Helsinki with lots of different stalls and shops. Every time I go back there are more coffee shops and fewer fresh food stalls, but I guess that's a sign of the times.

A wonderful way to experience local vendors. Yes, it's very touristy, but there is a reason people are drawn here.

Overlooking the Baltic Sea is the market square where wide varieties of activities takes place. Be careful with your foods, sea gulls are monitoring you.

The colourful buildings that line the Market Square on the central harbour make this place an exciting and vibrant one. The markets are usually daily but in winter they may be less frequent. Great place to come and browse and spend some time.

Eating fresh cooked fish and vegetables, anyone? Market Square of Helsinki has it all. Here you can find a few distinctive and typical food of Finland. Of course, some shopping stalls are also available!

The market is fun, but touristy. Great place to get lunch and sit outside in the summer and try some fish and other local foods. Also there are some good locally-made souvenirs for sale here. Very central location and right next to where you catch the ferry to Suomenlinna Island.

Market Square is great for everybody; there are local crafts, fresh fruits and delicious (huge) plates of seafood. If you don't want to commit to a meal, you can walk through and try some free samples. The harbor is nearby, so it's great for photos as well. Need the restroom? Head to the City Hall across the street. There's Wi-Fi here too!

so many delightful colors and smells, old women knitting hats and scarves, baked goods and fresh produce. you can't visit Helsinki and not go here at least once. good for souvenirs if that's a priority.

One of my favourite places in Helsinki, especially in the summer! I prefer to go there quite early as there are a lot of tourists there around noon. You can buy all kinds of fresh food and also a lot of different handcrafted things.

A "farmers market" Finnish style, I walk through it for the atmosphere as much as for what is available.

Excellent place to shop for produce, flowers, local handmade crafts and eat fresh food.

Probably a very fun place to hang out, right by the harbor, except it was raining when I stopped there, so I rushed through it a bit. Lots of deliciously smelly food stalls and artisanal tents. Still made the time to grab a plate of 'lax' - grilled salmon with a side of pommes frites. Manna from heaven when tired and hungry on a rainy day. Will try to stop there again tomorrow.
