Great for snorkeling. Remember you are in a residential area, drive, park and set up your space with care. Don't leave trash behind, be respectful of neighbors. Enjoy calm waters, and a less crowded beach for sunbathing, snorkeling, shell picking.

Those riptides can be challenging for even the strongest swimmers, so it's no surprise that this stretch of sandy beach on the North Shore is a popular choice for families, given that it's sheltered by some reef. Also a good spot for snorkelling.

Oh wow - I experienced the most amazing sunset of my life here. It felt like a movie, with big green mountains rising from the sea. Make sure you do a sunset here - it will change your life.

Haena Beach Park 'Tunnels' is perhaps the most beautiful beach on Kauai and is at the very end of the Highway, 9.5 miles from the condo.
During the summer months one can find the best snorkeling on the Island and during the winter months it boasts spectacular monster waves.

Beautiful beach. Some of the campers remind you that things are at times tough today, even in paradise. Clear waters volcanic shelf and beach sand from heaven.

This is a great spot for both snorkeling and body surfing! It is a pretty strong sand break, so only body surf here if you are a confident swimmer. The reef is to the right of the lifeguard stand and a great place to spend the day!

Awesome place to Snorkel and scuba. Close in there's channels between the coral, with plenty of angelfish and Humuhumunukunukuapua (Hawaii state fish) to see, with the occasional school of tilapia, Honu (turtles) and the odd eel and trumpet fish. Get here EARLY, as the limited parking fills up fast (8:30 is usually too late).

Great snorkeling, especially in early morning or at dusk, or whenever there's no wind. Beautiful beaches all around Tunnels, in both directions.

This is a Beautiful beach, the color of the water in summer is spectacular. A must see!! If you like to snorkel bring your gear, you will see amazing fish, turtles. Summertime is the best time to enjoy this beach, since the waves can get very large in winter. Its very hard to find parking here, so come early, or you may park at Ha'ena State Beach Park, then walk along the beach up to tunnels. Its a beautiful walk.

Tunnels Beach is number one or two on the top five things to do on the North Shore of Kauai. This beach is truly magnificent! The larges coral reef in the state is at Tunnels so bring your snorkeling gear. This place can speak for itself. Just go!
Monk Seals sometimes use Tunnels to sunbath. For the most part, they are not afraid of people. Non the less, do not get to close. They are wild animals. It is also against the law to harass them. Again, parking can be a hassle. Remember, you are on a very small island.

A very cool beach. Known for the barreling shore break when a swell comes in and being a little bit outside of town means it is often more low key.

Tunnels is where the big boys surf on Kauai. They call it Tunnels 'cause in the winter the waves start to barrel in from across the Pacific Ocean with nothing to slow 'em down for thousands of miles till they hit the reef off Makua Beach and pitch and roll into giant-sized aquatic tunnels in which the surfers get 'tubed' for minutes on end. Besides the surfing, Tunnels is pretty much 'Hawaii 5-0' in the flesh - swimming pool like water, white sand and palm trees, hula girls not included :-/

So pretty... Soft sand, clear blue water, and amazing beauty. An adventurous drive over several one lane bridges and through the jungle. Parking is limited so go early!

Wonderful northshore snorkling spot. Kitesurfers cut it up in the distance offshore.
