during the week of Easter when many shops and restaurants close down. Heading here in the winter also isn’t bad since the weather remains relatively mild. Summers are sweltering hot with temperatures that commonly reach 100 (37), along with hoards of tourists and higher hotel prices. If you do venture to Athens in the summer, especially during the hottest months of July and August, check to see that your hotel has air conditioning since not all hotels are blessed with this modern amenity.

You will love Glyfada town, as in just 10 minutes walk you can get it all - great shopping experience, hundreds of cafes and restaurants including McDonalds, KFC, Starbucks and Paul Bakery - and just cross over the high speed street and go for a swim!

one of the south suburbs of athens, with a view to the sea. lots of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. a bit on the expensive side though.
