Stepping through the doors of Waxy O´Connor´s feels like entering a pub designed by J. R. R. Tolkein. With 3 floors, 6 bars and 9 different rooms to explore, this Irish pub is a sight to behold with impressive detailed wooden paneling and quirky staircases connecting rooms and floors. Located opposite the Buchanan Street underground station and down the road from one of Glasgow´s universities, this is a buzzing spot and cosy retreat from the cold weather. The drink selection is what you would expect from an Irish pub so grab a pint of Guinness and find a perch. Waxy O´Connor´s serve up some pub classics including a tasty steak and Guinness pie, bangers and mash, and fish and chips.

Prepare to get lost in this rabbit warren of an Irish pub. The food here is pretty good, the decor is like being inside some sort of tree cave hybrid. Convenient for Queen Street station.

We walked over to Waxy O'Connors to continue our night in Glasgow. Waxy O'Connors is an Irish pub located on George Street. We walked in and noticed the maze like interior and stained glass windows. I think it must have been a converted church or something but very cool nonetheless. There are bars on each level with flat screens showcasing sports. We commandeered a corner of one of the bars and enjoyed a few pints, shots, and cocktails. They only have the basic spirits here and have never heard of some cocktails my friends rattled off. Just tell them the ingredients and you should be good to go. Although, they don't have Fireball whiskey which was odd. It's a good place to get your drink on when it's raining out and they do have a food menu. Friendly bartenders and interesting architecture makes this a unique place in Glasgow.
