This hotel is very historic with some very famous people having stayed there. Frank Sinatra to name one. It’s very grand and old fashioned and situated next to Grand central station. The hotel and food are lovely. There is glamorous cocktail bar in the hotel also. The only downside is the noise from the train station can be heard most of the night

Beautiful historic hotel! Fun fact it was a favorite spot for Winston Churchill. Rooms are large, breakfast is great and there is even a beautiful Champagne bar. This hotel is super central (attached to central station) so mega convenience factor.

Step off your train in Glasgow's central station and you may be forgiven for not giving much attention to your surroundings but take a closer look and you'll see you are being watched as you traverse the concourse. Up above you is The Champagne Bar located in Grand Central Hotel. The next time you're in the city, I recommend you pop in here for a glass of fizz and a change of perspective.

Sitting comfortably? You should be! The Champagne Bar and hotel have been the recipients of a £20 million refurbishment and it shows. There's 186 comfortably-appointed bedrooms and 21 meeting rooms, The Tempus Restaurant, a Delicatessen and a sumptuous Grand Ballroom capable of putting on wedding receptions and functions under a ceiling of custom-blended lighting. That's right, you can have the lighting match the napkins if you so wish.

Amongst many claims to fame, (everyone from Bob Hope to JFK have stayed here), this Queen Anne building is perhaps most famous for being the location of the first long-distance TV transmission by John Logie Baird. Now you know that, kudos to the owners Principal Hayley for restoring this lovely historical building into one which is vibrant, lively and the perfect meeting place for people from all walks of life.

Principal Hayley bought The Central in 2009 and this very grand hotel opened its doors after a £20 million refurbishment in September 2010. And may I say . . . . it was worth the wait.
There are 186 bedrooms and 21 meeting rooms. One of these is the Grand Room that would make any bride feel like a princess on her special day. You will be in awe of the décor, fireplace and lighting that would make your special day an extravaganza.
And without further ado I was then escorted to the Champagne Bar. This is no ordinary bar. This is a unique experience that moves you from the mundane to the spectacular with champagne and chandeliers.
The hotel also hosts the Tempus Restaurant and the Deli with menus you will find irresistible. If visiting Glasgow this Hotel is a must !
