Absolutely lovely and beautifully isolated village along the Poon Hill Circuit Trek, that can be reached after a strenuous hike. It is the main access point to Poon Hill, where visitors enjoy a splendid view of the mountains.

Awesome views from Sunny Teahouse in Ghorepani. Stopping point for Poonhill and onward to Annapurna Basecamp.

One of my favorite spots on Annapurna Circuit of Himalayas, Ghorepani I was told means 'donkey piss' which I would believe, but...??? In any event, a lovely town where many donkey caravans now that I think about do pass through. I stopped here to teach children English. On a serious note, an unforgettable, spiritual, rich (in the truest sense of the word) experience. If your trekking Annapurna, stop here for a while if your time allows. The beautiful nature aspect of your journey is only one part of it. ENJOY :)

Ghodepani (2,850 meters) is perhaps Nepal's most extreme example of a trekking ghetto. Until 1978, it was a long cowherder's hut set in a dense forest, visited only by pack trains that watered here-thus its name, "Horse Water". Beautiful rhododendron forest.
