4-5 times, and it never disappoints. GREAT atmosphere with clever sayings on the walls, shipwreck decorations, and tvs on. It really has a buzz of fun people and good food. AND you get a bib because you eat with your hands, straight off the table. No utensils are given. I love the messy experience. I've had the cajun fries (which are to die for--I love fries), the fried catfish, and the shrimp. I recommend the whole shebang, in medium (which is a bit spicy). The shrimp is fresh, and succulent, and the waiter service is always efficient, despite the full restaurant and long wait outside. How much you order depends on many fries you eat. The basket of fries is enough for 2-3 people as a side dish, so keep that i in mind. When I went with my family, we ordered 3 pounds of shrimp, one catfish basket and one cajun fries and we came out quite content. The price is great too! You can honestly eat for $10-$12/person, which is amazing for a seafood meal. My only problem with this place is that it is ALWAYS crowded--I've been here on a wed, thurs, fri, and sat and the wait is at least 30 minutes. And you can't make reservations or save seats. They're very strict about seating people if their party isn't there, so don't bother. But in all honesty, the wait is well worth it.

This is just down the hill and a perfect place to get your hands dirty with some of the best crab in the city.

Not as crowded as the other boiling crab location. The food is pretty much the same and the service is good. The parking lot can get a little crowded at night.

Great food to get down and get dirty with. The catfish is also excellent but not as messy

Good seafood like shrimp, crawfish, and oysters. The wait sucks!

I usually get the shrimp, whole shabang medium. The shrimp is fresh and very flavorful. Service is okay.

I LOVE the boiling crab and have been going for years.

What hasn't change is how good their sauce is. That is why I keep coming back.

Definitely get " The Whole Shabang" with your seafood of choice. The crawfish is my top favorite when in season. Otherwise, I get the shrimp.

The one thing I don't like about this location is the service. Our server forgot to ring in a few of our orders and didn't check up on us.
On my recent visit we had some bad shrimp in our bag. It was all mushy.

I love this place so much now that they have expanded this location. I have been a couple of times since and every time has super tasty. I mean what is not to like about a place where you can eat with your hands... ohhh just remember dont ask for the lobstah! haha they aint got none!

None the less I honestly love the shrimp here. I eat the crawdaddies cuase my friends like it... but I like the shrimp a lot. Nothing says class though like upending a bag in the middle of the table while wearing a bib and spraying guts all over the place.

The munchkin loves this place as well, big time! But she needs to have her shrimpies peeled for her as she cant quite do it on her own... She also loves the corn but then again so do I

Normal trip here with my friends:
2 lbs crawdaddies
2 lbs shrimpies
1 order of potatoes (for me)
1-2 corns each
1 order of Cajun fries
1/2 lb or 1 lb of andouille sausage
1 order of 6 or 12 oysters (my friends not me)

And we almost all usually have a beer or two each... it's a great way for a few friends to enjoy a great meal and a lot of fun times, talken, grubben, and sharing life.

Also don't write on the booths or tables, but any pine wood stuff, you can graffiti up to your hearts content!

Have fun and enjoy... better yet, invite me to join ya haha

Popular to the local young, college-aged crowd, this restaurant serves up flavorful Southern style, Cajun finger foods, prawns and blue crabs and a selection of beers. Their most common ordered item is crawfish (crayfish).

Been here a few times. I feel like the quality of the seafood is somewhere between average to good. This place pretty much hits the spot when im in the mood for spicy shrimp and stuff. Negatives are the wait time and the sauce smell stays on your hands even after several washes!

Food tried:
Cajun Fries - Good
Shrimp - good. not the freshest but not bad either.
corn - get it
sausage - get it
Crawfish - too much work for too little meat. pass
blue crab - bad choice. little crab with little meat. if u want crab get the dungeness ones. i've never tried those but no doubt they are better than the blue
fried fish - pretty good

Service:
The servers aren't bad. the only bad thing is the wait here. too many damn ppl want to eat at this place!

I came here on my birthday last year with a group of 14 people. We waited for two hours but finally got a huge table and man did we make a mess! Any place that allows me to eat like my inner cave woman gets two thumbs up from me! The whole shabang is no joke it is truly orgasmic! I ordered the shrimp, clam, corn and of course the crab. This location definitely beats out the one in Alhambra. The prices are a bit lower and the quality if much better. Oh and just a tip order shrimp instead of crawfish because it has more meat and its cheaper! :)

I'll probably get attacked for this negative review, but I'm not afraid and not going to lie about my true feeling about any restaurant. I first had crawfish when my friend took me to The Crawfish House across the street from The Boiling Crab. I like it there, but thought I had to give it a try here at since it has such a high review.

First of all, my bf and I were here around 4:00pm on Wednesday, and there was already a line. We can't believe how there was a wait already when it's a weekday where most people are suppose to be at work. So, after waiting for 20 minutes, we were called to be seated.

We ordered calamari, sweet potato fries, and mild crawfish with the whole sha-bang. Let's start with the calamari; it was HORRIBLE. I don't think it was worth my $9.00. I can taste that it was frozen and not fresh. Next, sweet potato fries; it was good, but nothing special @ all. Finally, the crawfish with the whole sha-bang, hummmm, nothing special. The spice blend they had on the crawfish covers all the flavors they have. I tasted just cajun, and that's pretty much each. When we ate it, we can't taste any other flavor in there like "The Crawfish House". Over @ "The Crawfish House," I can actually taste the lemon, the garlic, and the Cajun spice that's perfectly balanced.

Anyways, the point is I would not come back here again. If I were to crave for crawfish and want some of it, I would go to "The Crawfish House" across the street because it's better. I always like to check out places that people have high reviews about and is wiling to wait hours in line for; sometimes I agree, sometimes I don't. This is one of the places that I would not agree with. It's just hype and nothing special.

My first time @ the Boiling Crab FINALLY! Although the 1.5 hour wait was expected from what I heard... Waiting 1.5 hours was NOT fun at all. The expected wait time was 1 hour when we got there, but we ended up waiting 30 min more...

Considering the fact that this place is VERY busy, the service was pretty decent. We had a hard time ordering at first because of some of their "rules"... like you HAVE to get a while pound of crawfish... you can't mix it with other things unless u get at least a pound of crawfish... can't do a quarter but you can do a half with shrimp... blah blah blah, but once we got it down, it wasn't so bad.

I tried some crawfish, shrimp and Alaskan Crab legs with the Sha-bang sauce. For the price, it was pretty decent. Very messy but a fun experience... I'm just not so sure if it was worth the 1.5 hour wait.

What more can I say that someone hasn't already mentioned? If you loved seafood you should definitely check it out. They have everything: shrimp, craw fish, lobster, dungeness crab, king crab, etc! They have various seasonings. But honestly the only one you need to know is the Whole Sha-bang. I addition to the seafood I also like the Cajun fries, Sausage, and Chicken Wings.

Delicious Food! The only disadvantage is there usually is always a long wait.

Best crawfish place in the whole wide world. Period.

I thought San Jose's Boiling Crab was good until I went here.

This joint was absolutely amazing. The seasonings were not as salty and the sweet potato fries were generous. My friend and I ordered 2 pounds of crawfish (medium she-bang) and it was the perfect amount between the both of us.

We ordered a pound for mum and she immensely enjoyed her portion as well.

The crawfish were decent-sized and we had a blast sucking on heads and pinching some tails. HAHA.

Service was good, too. The staff came by every 10 minutes to check on us and that was refreshing for a change.

Overall, a fantastic eating experience and we will return.
