Weather

A famously welcoming climate graces the San Diego area. You're unlikely to need an umbrella with just 12 inches of rain a year, and temperatures are like a warm hug year round. Most travelers visit in summer, ... Read more
though the months which see the most sun are actually December to February. Encinitas is an exciting beach town in North County San Diego that lives and breathes the brachytherapy lifestyle! Good food, surf, sun, art, and a spiritual lifestyle can all be found in this classic SoCal haven!

Filled with eateries, yoga studios, juice shops, and endless miles of first-class beach, Encinitas is the North County city with that classic SoCal wellness vibe. You should either be running, tanning, or sipping kale juice here to fit in. ;)

I really love Encinitas, a great location for surfing and healthy food spots. Great weather, beach camping nearby and an assortment of surf shops and local cafes! Nice place to take a cruise down the Pacific Coast Highway.

Browse among the 700 boards at family-run Hansen’s Surf Shop, and take your pick to world-famous Swami’s beach, named for the nearby Self-Realization Fellowship Retreat, Gardens, and Hermitage. During winter months, the right point break, reef breaks, and beach breaks lure a steady stream of local and international surfers. Stroll the short walk to downtown Encinitas, full of Mexican restaurants like Juanita’s, whose fish tacos are worth the wait in line. And get your beach-tunes fix at Lou’s Records, an institution for SoCal vinyl lovers.

Nice place for a walk or bike. Lots of stores and restaurants to visit after either coming from the beach or coming from the city.

Encinitas is a laid back beach town. The beaches are okay, but there are some great surf spots; Swamis, Beacons, Stonesteps etc etc. It's a great place to grab affordable eats and meet SoCal locals.
