I love this spot for a pastry and coffee on the patio or a delightful lunch with friends or family. The atmosphere is beautiful but casual and inviting. Lots of natural light and the food is incredible. German specialties, pastries, beer, and lovely plates. It's a place that is consistently good every time I return!! ❤️

Excellent local pastries. Visit one side for a quick cafe / bakery purchase, or settle in for the long haul serious brunch scene on the other side.

What started as a small bakery has blossomed into a two-tier restaurant with wonderful food. And the bakery is still there, too = yum!

Guglhupf's bakery is indescribably amazing, with a huge variety of homemade German and American desserts. The restaurant is beautiful and a great place to eat with family, friends, or alone. It has a really great menu and beautiful scenery. It's close to a lot of other fun things in Durham and is 100% worth the visit.

Fantastic German bakery that added a nice cafe a few years ago. Great place for breakfast or lunch, and has a good mix of students on laptops and locals chilling out.

Hmm ... what do I love more: the breakfast pastries at weekend brunch, or the yummy sandwiches at lunch and dinner? The prices are fantastic, the front patio is generally climate-controlled because of the surrounding walls (cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter), and I always run into friends.
