Had a LARGE room in the back of the hotel, away from the noise. But even so, they still provided earplugs just in case. Had a mini fridge which was a nice amenity to have. Staff was pleasant and informative. Parking is 15e a day at the Fleet St Parking garage around the corner.

The Temple Bar Hotel: the name pretty much describes why you’d want to stay there. It’s a no-nonsense operation that provides guests with clean beds, showers, and a hearty breakfast that will, hopefully, counteract the aftereffects of a good night out. They do a lot of trade with stag and hen parties from the rest of the country and from the UK, mostly at the weekends. Cocktail mixing lessons are available by appointment in one of their bars. What I’d like a lesson in, though, is the art of preparing a take-away full Irish breakfast, which they offer, presumably, for guests who for some reason require a greasy breakfast at four in the afternoon. It comes in a brown bag and, as I confirmed by asking several people who worked there, it is not any kind of breakfast sandwich. I wasn’t brave enough to get one and spent the afternoon wondering how they wrapped up the beans.

Location, location, location. At the heart of Dublin city centre and in the middle of the nightlife scene this hotel is perfect for those over to experience the social scene – hens, stags, weekend breaks (The bar next door is known for it’s live music and dancing). Neat and clean with friendly staff and fairly minimal, basic décor it’s a good option for those looking for somewhere to sleep that’s central to everything, rather than those looking for somewhere to spend time or get some peace. There’s a Tesco supermarket across the road, which is handy for picking up any forgotten items such as toiletries, or for buying daily supplies

I booked a room for August 28th 2014. 13 months in advance. Temple Bar has charged me the full amount in advance. This was not made clear on the reservation. While making the reservation the reservation stated must be cancelled within 48 hours of arrival or 1 nights stay charged. Well they charged my entire stay of $1300 13 months in advance. This was a surprise to me. I contacted reservations who said not only do they charge in advance for this rate but it is non-refundable. I explain this wasnt clear, stating that it clearly says I can cancel within 48 hours. A manager contacts me back and says, sorry that is the policy. So they have taken $1300 from me 13 months in advance of a stay and wont let me cancel it. Very misleading booking practice. Very inconsiderate management. Would you want to stay at a hotel that treats their customers like this? Not good customer service. Horrible management. Stay away or risk being swindled.
