hiking trail will take adventurous visitors through the back roads of the Mediterranean island and allow them to visit some of the country's smallest and most charming villages, for anywhere from a day to two weeks. And if you work up an appetite, local delicacies include cured meats and sausages, homemade polenta and boar stew (from the wild boar that populate the rural forests). If you still have energy after a day spent in the sun at one of the many sandy beaches or on a sailboat, be sure to check out local musicians singing traditional Corsican a capella choral tunes in bars around Ajaccio, Bastia or the smaller towns such as Corte.

Corsica is a complex and compelling place. It's the confluence of ancient Mediterranean cultures, modern France, 19th century Italy, mountains, great trekking, protected beaches and mysterious sea caves. The food ranges from French and Italian tourist fare to high-end dining and fresh bouillabaisse on a boat. It's a great place to bring kids, to hike, or to honeymoon. One of my favorite memories is sitting on our little hotel balcony over a canal dining on 4 kinds of pate, baguette, and local moscato. Mmm.

A lovely island off the south of France, with great beaches and plenty of mountains. Had a coach trip around the island and stopped off at this gorgeous lake and passed through lots of dinky villages. Very nice indeed.

Spent a lovely week here. Nice coarse sand beech. Best part was renting a moped and exploring.

I loved that this Island is relaxing and so very scenic. If you are looking for adventures but not necessarily a wild nightlife then you will love it here. Great for diving and known for beautiful beaches that are virtually uninhabited this is a perfect place to chill. Lot's of villa accommodations for hotels and cute little boutique hotels.

One high mountain rises from the Mediterranean sea... Loved the unspoiled nature & aquamarine waters of Corse... If you like mountains & sea... this is your place...

Lovely holiday island, a great get-away from the hustle and bustle of most vacation destinations. The locals are very friendly and the wine is excellent! An island that's easy to get about although some of the local's driving can be a bit eratic

Beautiful island. Loved to sail the east coast, visiting Solenzara, old harbour of Bastia and Florence on the west coast. Many times I tooked a run on the east coast in the morning.

Corsica is a beautiful island with many different characteristics. I got through all the islands and found out many different landscapes, from the desert of Agriates in the north to the rocky red coast on the west, to the white and high 'bocche of Bonifacio' of the south. The east coast is more gentle and has many sandy beaches but I will recommend only the south east part. The areas You can't miss are for sure Macinaggio, Calvi, Porto, Sartene and Bonifacio. Food also is good. Try moules with pommes frites! Wines from the northern part ofthe island are also very good. It 's very common meeting wild animals along the streets.

Gorgeous island off the coast of France with a storied past filled with Pirates and endless waves of pillaging. We stayed here (in St Florent) after hearing from friends that Sardinia was overly touristic. Don't know whether or not that was true, but Corsica was great. The beaches are nice, the food is fantastic, and there are lots of great villages with narrow, winding streets to wander.
