Similar to Phi Phi Islands in Thailand, Coron Island (locals refer to it as The Reef) is one big massive rock jingle with hidden lakes and lagoons, tucked away beaches and corals, all ready to be explored!

Actually situated on the island of Busuanga, Coron town faces across Coron Bay to the dream-like Coron Island. I found Coron less enjoyable as a town than El Nido, but the surrounding sights more than make up for it. Unlike the bayfront at El Nido, Coron’s waterline is marred by sewage and docks, but it’s still a pretty town if you head back from the seafront and explore the streets nearer Mount Tapyas.

Coron, Palawan was my favorite location during my stay at the Philippines. Voted as #1 island in the world for the second year in the world, Coron is simply paradise. Must sees include: Kayangan Lake and Twin Lagoon.

Few people get to the western Philippine island of Palawan, and even fewer to the Calamian Islands off the north coast beyond El Nido. This archipelago, known collectively as 'Coron', is mostly visited by SCUBA fanatics keen to dive the dozen or so WWII-era Japanese wrecks sunk here in Coron Bay by an American sneak attack in late 1944. Even if you're not a diver, however, Coron is more than worth your time. It lacks the party scene and long beaches of Boracay, but more than makes up for it in natural beauty, offering superb island hopping, great snorkelling and plenty of spots to explore well off the beaten track.

If it s low tide, you can either swim thru a tunnel to the twin lakes or climb the wooden stairs in between the rocks. the twin lakes is huge and the water is calm and deep. a great place for diving.
