Why Go

The Cook Islands in the South Pacific are, politically speaking, in a free association with New Zealand, although they feel like a lost corner of the earth. The main destinations and centers of population are Rarotonga and Aitutaki islands, although smaller destinations like black pearl fields on Manihiki and Mitiaro and Mangaia, where traditional Polynesian life still dominates. Bright white beaches, exotic island food like raw tuna with coconut milk, and days running one into the other will make time on the far-flung Cook Islands, which cover an area of ocean as big as Western Europe, disappear in the blink of an eye.

Best vacation ever... non-commercial island in the south pacific. 1 mile reef around the entire island with beautiful aqua clear water for amazing snorkeling. Breathtaking scenery.

Some of the best snorkling, and most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, all hosted by the laidback polynesian vibe.

With its exquisite beauty, charming people and unspoilt environment the Cook Islands is the perfect place to inspire the soul, stir the spirit and seduce the heart. The Cook Islands truly is one of the most romantic places on earth to escape to for that perfect wedding, honeymoon or romantic getaway.

A mix of coral atolls and volcanic islands – a good few of the nine Southern islands could be listed as “must see before I die”. An idyllic climate, stunning scenery, warm-hearted people and a desirable way of life where “hurry” has not been coined, make them irresistible. Bush clad volcanic peaks descend to glistening white sands and the inevitable palm-fringed blue lagoons. Rarotonga - the capital - and Aitutaki – breathtakingly beautiful – dominate the call of the conch.

My wife and I honeymooned on Rarotonga. We stayed at Rarotonga Beach Bungalows. It was just what we were looking for. Super mellow, beautiful beach, friendly hosts and some space. I would go back and stay there again, but we'd also take the extra flight to Aitutaki. That looks amazing too.
