This hotel offers quick and easy walking access to attractions such as Grant Park, Millennium Park, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Magnificent Mile. It’s right on Michigan Avenue, and is just three blocks from the elevated CTA train lines that can take you to other parts of the city. The lobby is grand and well furnished, and there is both a Starbucks and a restaurant connected to the hotel. The restaurant has patio seating during warm weather, which is a nice touch. There are a variety of meeting rooms and conference areas, and the close to Columbia College Chicago and the Harold Washington Library (a Chicago architectural landmark). Nice amenities, décor, and location.

A beautiful historic hotel. I didn't stay there, but visited it on a tour, and the concierge is very knowledgeable.

This is a porthole window, overlooking Michigan Avenue, from the Sky penthouse suite at The Blackstone.

I haven't stayed at the Blackstone, but I had brunch downstairs in Mercat a la Planxa then took a social media tour with Gogobot Chicago. Not only didn't I know about this hotel on South Michigan, but I didn't know it's place in history.

The old barber shop in the basement was one of Al Capone's favorite places since he could slip in unobserved, the windowless room kept out prying eyes, and he could make a quick escape if needed. It's in it's original sparkling white form minus the barbershop hardware, although you can still see the outline of the chair pedestals on the tile floor.

The political term "smoke filled room" was coined by Robert Clapper of the United Press who was sitting outside the ninth floor suite when the power brokers emerged to announce that they'd given the republican nomination to Harding. Every president from Taft through Carter stayed above that room in the presidential suite.

Railroad magnate Timothy Blackstone himself, the namesake for the hotel that his mansion turned into, set up in this room since he could monitor the train arrivals and departures. The Drake Brothers (of the Hotel Drake further up Michigan Avenue) bought the joint from Timothy's widow and turned it into a hotel, with the priviso that it always carry his name.

The ballroom, although small (you might have seen it in the Untouchables scene where DeNiro smashes another mobster with a baseball bat), but beautifully decorated and with great views of Michigan Avenue, the park, the harbor, and Museum Campus.

The most amazing room is the oddly shaped room on the roof. It wraps around the north east corner while walls curve in to form the high ceiling. It's the domed part of the roof that you can see from the street. It has skylights to let in the sun and porthole style windows with excellent views of Chicago on three sides. That's where I want to stay when I come back.

Absolutely stunning hotel in South Loop area near Museum Campus. The Blackstone is a throwback to the days of high Chicago glamour. Modern updates integrate seamlessly throughout this gorgeous venue.
