The Compass is located upstairs of Carlsbad Village, right above Jamba Juice. Lots of outdoor seating available on the front patio and very dog friendly. Everyone I saw outside had a dog on a Sunday early afternoon.

I opted for a table near the back by the window for quiet eating. The main indoor dining area looked cozy, yet laid back.

The menu isn't overwhelming so I had no problem deciding. Fried portebello fries, California Burrito, and seared ahi tuna salad were ordered. The portebello fries were on point, especially with the dip! They weren't too salty. The California Burrito was packed with generous portions of avocado and the fixings. I tasted all the ingredients with each bite. The ahi tuna salad was also well equipped with tuna, the dressing was zesty. Yum!

My only discomfort was that our seats were near the unisex restrooms and the restrooms were utilized frequently. It was either private table in the back by the restrooms or choose to be in the main area with arm and arm interaction with other patrons.

My girlfriend and I came here for lunch last Sunday. We ordered portebello fries, California burrito, and some Asian ahi tuna salad. The portebello fries were really good, they cut it into large strips and added truffle salt. The California burrito was also really good with large amounts of fresh avocado. I can't comment on the salad, but my girlfriend said she liked it.

The Compass is awesome and lively! Even on a weekday night they seem to be packed. They have amazing craft cocktails and an awesome selection of whiskey and beer. The staff is friendly and very hipster. I highly recommend ordering the bacon wrapped dates! They are delicious!

This place has a great atmosphere, and by that I mean, they have bacon-wrapped bratwurst corn dogs. And beer and cocktails.

This is such an amazing bar/restaurant in the Carlsbad Village Faire - I came for lunch with a friend and was wholly impressed. My turkey burger was HUGE, but delicious and juicy -I had to take half home! The fries are made in house, and served with a homemade coconut ranch dressing....OMG. I had never heard of such a thing before, but I was missing out! It's worth mentioning that they make all their sauces in-house, so even the spicy ketchup is notable. I can't wait to come back!

I can't get enough of this restaurant! It's my fave go-to spot for any meal, HH, a business meeting, a date night. Love it! The food is delicious. I've tried almost everything on their menu (it rotates seasonally) and honestly have not been disappointed once. My must-try recommendations include the shishito peppers and bacon wrapped dates as appetizers. The beet salad or friend green tomatoes as a starter/salad. The quinoa or turkey burgers (both homemade in-house) with sweet potato fries or the short ribs. They also have an amazing cocktail and beer-snob worthy beer list. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. They also have outdoor seating. Like I said, you can't go wrong! Only complaint is that it's always busy at dinner time and on weekends.
