daytime highs in the upper 50s (15C), which is certainly manageable, but it’s also the wettest season. Summer’s highs in the low 80s (26-29C) make for great beach weather, but you will be battling high season crowds for space on the sand and in line for the city’s main tourist attractions. Spring and fall, on the other hand, offer pleasant temperatures in the range of 60-75F (16-24C) and the chance to have the city (mostly) all to yourself. Major festivals include Carnaval in March and Festival Silêcio in June.

Stayed at Praia Mar Hotel with view to the sea. Worth visiting. Huge beach!
