South Africa. Its aerial tramway whisks visitors up the namesake precipice for a view that seems to stretch to Antarctica. Or head south to the Cape Peninsula and the Cape of Good Hope, once a major milestone for sailors and now a good place to see antelope or zebras, or watch for passing whales. Visitors love Boulders Beach, where a large colony of African penguins waddle their time away.

An unique place in Cape Town! Table Mountain is a huge area, you need a full day to explore the mountain.

Table mountain is number 1 attraction of cape town, it is believed to be 6 times older than Himalayas, Height from the sea level is around 1km toward Atlantic ocean, which means you are always above cloud, and will get perfect view of city and ocean if its clear whether , if its cloudy then you will feel as if you are above clouds which I think is more beautiful.

Top of mountain is rocky with flat surface to walk, so children can also walk easily over there.

Adventure loving tourist can trek to mountain top, but please take a note its not easy.
For family with children's my suggestion to take cable car both ways, its taken about 5 min to reach to the top from the base, and view is amazing.

One of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Please take a lot of water and snacks if you plan to climb the mountain it is 1000m high! Stay on the path and choose popular routes like Skeleton Gorge. The cable way is an easier way to enjoy the beauty of the mountain for those who do not wish to climb or are unable to do so.

I did the platteklip gorge, definitely not easy. Go early and bring a lot of water. The whole way up to the top is beautiful!

Better than Rio's Sugarloaf, visiting Cape Town without going to Table Mountain is like visiting San Francisco without seeing the Golden Gate Bridge. Walk among the clouds and enjoy a 360 degree view that includes the city, ocean and surrounding mountains.

Table Mountain is a must for anyone visiting Cape Town, as it is iconic. The trip in the lift is an adventure in itself, offering stupendous views of the city. Once up there you can walk as far as as feels comfortable, soaking up the scenery, and feeling glad to be alive in such a wonderful setting!

Take the cable car or walk up (will take about 2 hours and is tough)! On top of the mountain you have a beautiful view over Cape Town and their is a lovely little walk though Fynbos (indigenous vegetation). This is a very wind dependent activity and we advice you to check the weather forecast a few days before your planning to visit.

A must see while you're here. Take the cable car, or if you're feeling energetic, choose one of the spectacular walks.

Table Mountain had to be one of my favorite parts of Cape Town! Not only is the view beautiful, but it's a fun hike around the mountain. I'd definitely suggest packing a picnic for the sunset!

Table Mountain in Cape Town is one of the official New 7 Wonders of Nature. You can take a cable car to get to the top, or you can choose from many different routes to climb to the 1000 metre peak.

Everything from the cable car ride to the hiking at the top of Table Mountain is awesome. Such an incredible spot and a must see when you're in Cape Town. Helpful Tip: Have your hotel buy your passes for the mountain before you go up. You'll save a ton of time waiting in line if you buy your tickets online/have your hotel snag them for you.

Table Mountain dominates Cape Town's skyline and it'll be a shame if you don't head over there. You can hike or take the cableway up. Either way, you are guaranteed magnificent views of Cape Town and the surrounding areas. Simply stunning!

Worth reiterating that this is the single biggest cant-miss attraction of Cape Town. The views, the cable car, even seeing the Hyraxs that occupy the cliffs, everything is awesome!

The symbol of Cape Town, Africa's 'Mother City', the 1000-meter plateau of Table Mountain looms over CT like a prehistoric giant, and the sight of clouds spilling off its flat peak in the twilight, high above the city, might just be the thing that makes you fall in love with Cape Town. With a nifty cable-car offering fabulous views out over Lion's Head peak, the city, and the Atlantic, you don't need to lace up your hiking boots to take in the spectacular views, but if you're feeling even the least bit active, the 1.5 hour one-way trek to the top from the lower cable-car station via Platteklip Gorge is one of the world's best 'city hikes': rugged, with stunning views.

Officially the world's third largest urban park (behind the Bosque de la Primavera in Mexico and the Serra da Cantareira in Brazil's São Paulo). However, it's not a single, continuous area running between Signal Hill in the north, to Cape Point in the south. Much of this is punctuated by roads and homes - not to mention mountains. While Table Mountain itself is a huge draw for tourists, my favourite section is at its southernmost tip, also known as the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Just be careful of those baboons - no joking, they can be seriously vicious.

A fan of heights? Jump in the Cableway to the top of Table Mountain in South Africa and sweep your bride-to-be off her feet with an unrivalled view across Cape Town, the peaks and the vast ocean. If you want to propose a little closer to the ground, head to the long, whitesand Bloubergstrand Beach for a Table Mountain-backdrop to remember.

Fantastic views over Cape Town. The lift rotates on the way up and down, so enables you to see everything. You can also trek up and down.

Many people assume the national park is only the mountain standing over Cape Town, but the park extends farther south, all the way to Cape Point. There are short or multi-day hikes, gorgeous views, and baboon and ostrich sightings.
