Cancun Holidays

As one of the first planned tourist cities in the world, Cancun is wholly dedicated to the pleasures of a sun and sand vacation. On the Caribbean coast of Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, Cancun boasts fine white sand beaches and warm turquoise water. The Hotel Zone is just what it sounds -- hotels, dining and shopping, geared towards international ... Read more
tourists, cruise ship passengers and all-inclusive vacation resorts. To add a bit of adventure to your vacation, venture out from the city to go on a Jeep safari, visit Mayan ruins, swim with dolphins at an adventure park or explore offshore on a boat trip. While chain restaurants abound, Cancun's dining options have expanded into the gourmet side featuring Yucatecan cuisine like poc chuc (shredded pork marinated in sour orange juice) or succulent lobster. For night owls, Cancun has a vibrant nightlife, with a multitude of bars and clubs for all ages. These are especially packed during Cancun's busiest week with the under-25 set: spring break, which can run anywhere from mid-March to mid-April.

Spring Break season from mid-February through mid-April is probably something you’ll want to either plan for or avoid, depending on your age and propensity to appreciate drunken ruckus. December and late April are good times to go to avoid big crowds and stormy weather.

Playa del Carmen

If I'm honest I prefer Playa del Carmen and Tulum. Cancun is a bit too 'Vegas' for me, plus it is super expensive. But if you are looking to party and don't mind splashing the cash you can have an amazing time here.

The city if filled with beautiful beaches and great food with so many activities for the whole family to do. The big downside here is the draw it "party" goers. So beware to be around rowdy people day and night.

The white sandy beaches and warm winds suck you in. Skip the busy nightlife and enjoy the more local aspects. Rent a chair by the ocean and relax all day!

everyine needs to go to Cancun at least once. It is cheap and beautiful. $1000 per person for a week all inclusive. Flight, hotel, food and alcohol is included. Nothing can't beat that!

There are a number of things to do within a small and large area from the city center and the hotel area. There are also many options for hotels and dining. Cancun is safe, but as anywhere you should be cautious and observant and stay within recommended areas.
Those renting cars will have a run in with local police and are charged $100 dollars to keep their tags. Scam!
Locals working for the bus, tourist parks, and historical sites are not always friendly to Americans.
Off season ( after January) is the best time to visit. The weather and water are very warm and the beach is less crowded.
