How can you miss Harvard square? Great place with loads of street music, places to hang out, places to eat, grab a beer. There're book stores where you can read books and of course buy new/used books.

Fun area. We wondered into the Coop and grabbed a coffee and sat to read a few books. Quiest, clean, and warm.

I love "Hahvahd Square"! It's a great spot to go to explore and see street performers and also they have a lot of great street festivals! If your looking for Nightlife there is a lot to choose from here as well!

Harvard Square is a large triangular area near the center of Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States, at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue, Brattle Street, and John F. Kennedy Street. It is the historic center of Cambridge.[2] Adjacent to Harvard Yard, the historic heart of Harvard University,[3] the Square (as it is sometimes called locally) functions as a commercial center for Harvard students, as well as residents of western Cambridge and the inner western and northern suburbs of Boston. These residents use the Harvard station, a major MBTA Red Line subway and bus transportation hub.
In an extended sense, the name "Harvard Square" can also refer to the entire neighborhood surrounding this intersection for several blocks in each direction. The nearby Cambridge Common has become a park area with a playground, baseball field, and a number of monuments, several relating to the Revolutionary War.

From the HarvardSquare.com website:
Each year, over 8 million men, women and children visit Harvard Square. Visitors come for a variety of reasons; this is a place of history, of books, of ideas, and of learning. It is a place of bookstores and coffee houses, of fine dining and eclectic shopping. It is a place of folk music and old theaters, of Cuban ballet and world-class music, of street-performers and award-winning pizza, of public discourse, and public art.

Great crowd of students, fun shops and some very good food. I feel the foodie scene here has very much improved over the past few years. The shopping though is not as great as it once was, small boutiques have been replaced by some of the stores you can find elsewhere in downtown Boston. It's a great place to hang out and there's always a chance for some culture!

Little downtown area within Harvard university where you can chill at a cute cafe or buy some souvenirs. Good place to take a stroll if you're in Boston!

Harvard square is always happening. The local shops around the square are a treat, they are really one of the kind shops that cannot be found elsewhere (Black Ink, Julep, Cardullo's, Zinnia), there is something for everyone to see and love. There are plenty of famous eateries around the square as well, they can be identified with long lines extending to the outside. Great spot on a day just for exploring.

More like a trapezoid these days, but the centre of Harvard University on the Cambridge side. Lots of great shops and side streets to explore. Should be something for everyone.
