Rooms on the 4th floor, are quite large and spacious, with a large bathroom. The position is ok, although personally I did not like Microcentro at all, it is way too loud and dirty; and if I had to go back to Buenos Aires I would try to stay in the San Telmo area, where the nicest restaurants and bars are - something to keep in mind if you are young and like to have a bit of nightlife! As to our room, the thing that bothered us the most was that we had no closet. Which meant that for 4 days we had to pack and unpack the suitcase any time we needed to get changed. For some reason, we also had aunts in our room, which were coming from the bathroom. The shower curtain was way too short, which meant we made a mess after every shower. No shelves of any sort in the bathroom, not even a cup for our toothbrush! We did not have enough hangers for the towels, which, btw, were stained, just as all the sheets. Breakfast was ok - there was a rather good variety of both sweets and savoury things, which is rather uncommon in Argentina. However, all the plates and cups were cracked! The personnel was ok.

The hotel was being painted when I arrived so this definitely affected my impression of the place, as I smelled fresh paint every time I entered and exited the reception area. It was very basic and had wifi and breakfast. If you get a room with a balcony then you will see some great views, especially in the 6th and 7th floors. The best thing about this place is really the location, as it's in Avenida de Mayo and close to many places of cultural importance, such as the Congressional Building, Plaza the Mayo, the Obelisk, and several good cafés. There's a Starbucks right next door and the architecture is so similar that it seems as if it's a part of the hotel. The beds kind of looked like hospital beds. If you have stay here then it's best to do so if you have a lot of work to do or things to see so you can just sleep there, as this isn't a good hotel in which to socialize. The receptionist was very kind though.

This place seemed lifeless to me. I walked into the lobby (which was eerily silent and sparsely decorated – the only furniture, besides the reception desk, consisted of two chairs and two wooden tables) and can’t say I felt particularly welcome by the clearly overworked receptionist. The hotel is a giant, maze-like complex containing 750 rooms on seven floors. The rooms contain the essentials – bed, closet, night table, even a microwave – but didn’t look cozy. There is no restaurant or bar, but a breakfast area. However, the hotel is located in a great area: right on Avenida de Mayo, a mere few blocks away from the historic Plaza de Mayo. And for those Americans craving a little something from home, you can just pop over to the Starbucks next door (although for a more authentic experience, you ought to cross the street to Café Tortoni).

There was nothing particularly stunning about this hotel. It was clean and friendly and there was a computer with WIFI that I could use, but it really was just a place to go to sleep in. The buffet breakfast was by far the best feature. It was really complete and a lot better than some of the other breakfasts I’ve seen on offer in Buenos Aires. There were cereales, hams, cheeses, breads, jams, lots of fruit, cakes, juices and tea and coffee. The breakfast room was also big, light and clean. Nothing to shout about, but little to complain about too.

Located right in the city centre and close to all the major sights, this historic hotel is great if you want something basic, cheap and central.
The building is gorgeous and is on Avenida de Mayo, the oldest avenue in Buenos Aires. The staff speak good English and are very sweet and helpful. This is a great two-star option that has everything you need. Decent breakfast and very clean and tidy. Rooms are a good size but it’s quite no-frills.
It’s been recently renovated so it’s in good condition and some of the old, original fittings and chandeliers are stunning. The breakfast room is particularly nice. This hotel is probably best for older clientele as it doesn’t have a bar or social area. Reasonably priced too.

The Hotel Mundial is in a grand, elegant old building from the 1930s on the historic Avenida de Mayo and near the Plaza del Congreso. It is a really good price for the location, and the building has beautiful art deco touches in many places, though it seems a bit bare in terms of decor. The breakfast is served in this huge room with really high ceilings and tons of space and light from the large, long windows. The rooms look modern and comfortable, simple but nice. Nothing is particularly luxurious, but it's a great location, a nice building and a good price.. The staff is helpful and nice and you are within walking distance to a large amount of the historic sites in the city center. The Starbucks next door is a rather sad reminder of what most historic buildings in this area are turning into.

All the staff members were very thoughtful and friendly! Our room was nice, beautifully painted. Breakfast was very good, although we were there for 1 week and it was the same food every day. Very close to most attractions, we almost didn't take the cab. All that for a very low price!
