Designed by Phillipe Starck, this opulent hotel offers over-the-top elegance in the conveniently located waterfront district of Puerto Madero. Spacious rooms overlook either BA's sparkling skyline or the nearby Ecological Reserve on Rio de la Plata. If the enormous bathrooms and oversize tubs in your room isn't enough, check out the Faena's spa, which features Turkish hammam baths and a special Incan-style stone sauna shaped like an igloo.

Local from Buenos Aires

This hotel is one of the most luxury you can find at Buenos Aires, located at Puerto Madero, a pretty new neighborhood full of restaurants and offices. As you can see the hotel has a pool with a "Crown" in one extreme, and this is just the beginning of the touch of luxury you will find here.

Local from Buenos Aires

This is without a doubt the most stunning, luxurious, gorgeous hotel in Buenos Aires. Located in the most exclusive site in BA, Puerto Madero, your room overlooks either the city or the river. The presentation of the hotel is dramatic and gorgeous, but the people are so friendly you would never know how exclusive this hotel is. The gym is totally equipped which top-line machines and weights, and includes your own personal trainer for no charge! The pool is in a beautiful garden and is topped by a crown! The large, airy bathrooms each have a full-sized bathtub. The beds are huge and fluffy, and the tvs are enormous and equipped with a home stereo system throughout the room, including in the bathroom. The exquisite antique furniture, rich colors, and modern lines are beautiful, comfortable, and super stylish. No detail has been overlooked, this is the lap of luxury, style and comfort.

This place is absolutely stunning and for me it's the best luxury hotel in Buenos Aires.
Everything has been designed to perfection with great attention to detail and it’s no wonder it’s such a celebrity hotspot!
The outside heated pool is open all year round and has a bar where food and drinks are served. The hotel’s restaurants and café are also excellent with quality food and great service.
The rooms are spacious and unusual. The bathrooms in executive rooms have gorgeous bath tubs and glass walls. The rooms have really comfy king sized beds that face the room’s window looking over views of the river. Unfortunately, only the top suites have balconies.
There is a great gym that has all the equipment you need plus your own personal trainer included in the room price. Plus there’s 3 business centres so it’s the perfect place to combine business with pleasure.
Staff at the hotel are very helpful, relaxed and really welcoming.

So I am a huge Philippe Starck fan after I saw his work at the SLS in Beverly Hills. The refinement he brought to the Faena is unbelievable. Anyone that appreciates modern design, art and architecture and high end luxury will love this hotel. The lobby looks like an elegant nightclub with beautiful modern decor and interesting lighting. This hotel is just over the top glamorous and you will appreciate all the attention to detail. The piano bar is extremely hip, yet comfortable with high back couches and chairs, quirky design elements, etc. The outdoor pool is hands down the best looking pool in Buenos Aires. It reminds me of LA or Miami, but in the best way possible. The lounge chairs are amazing and you wont want to get up especially with their bar service. This hotel is worth every penny- whether you are staying at the hotel for multiple days or even just for a night out. The design is truly remarkable and you will love it.

“Wow, finally you get what you pay for”
Yes the Faena is expensive but the service is some of the best I have experienced anywhere in the world. We stayed in the hotel for Christmas Eve and Day but a week before were able to drop off some luggage in advance of our stay as we were off to the countryside for a week. This was not a problem at all and made our lives so much easier travelling around.

The decor in the hotel is better than any I have seen before and I cannot think of a hotel I have visited with such a style of its own. The photos are the only thing that can do it justice.

The food in the hotel is pricey but of a high standard, we had already seen the tango show on a previous visit and suspect there are better value shows in BA that are available. The bistro is a crazy room all in white with unicorns coming out of the walls and is a grand dinning experience.

Back to service, the hotel provides you with your own concierge (1 for every two rooms I think) and a small mobile phone that you can reach your concierge on when ever you need help. They arranged taxi's suggested places to eat which were superb. This is a really special touch which you have paid for so it is worth using even if it feels a little strange to start.

Draw backs as there have to be a couple, they charge for wireless as it is an easy way for big hotels to make huge margins. The biggest drawback however is the huge volumes of day trippers or gate crashers that go to the pool each day. It is a superb pool and complex but if you are a guest you shouldn't have a problem getting a bed around the pool. We were OK but many others weren't as lucky. The people watching around the pool is fantastic and people mixed well over a drink as the sun was going down which was good to see.

If you are thinking of treating yourself when you are in BA this is something worth experiencing even if it is a short visit.
