The Boutique Hotel Zara is tucked away on a quiet side street just off the nexus of two of Budapest’s biggest tourist attractions, Váci pedestrian street and the Great Market Hall. This sleek hotel of 20 rooms is perfect for the hipster tourist or business entrepreneur who wants a central location and access to the buzz of the city while at the same time enjoying a brief respite in a crisp, cleanly, designed space. There is usually a well dressed business person with an iPad sitting in the lobby surfing the net as they wait for a friend or colleague as the intimate hotel bar and restaurant are perfect for one on one business meetings. The Danube is only a few blocks away for a lovely evening promenade along the river with an excellent view of the castle. The staff can recommend some excellent nearby restaurants, however it is generally recommended to venture a little further into the center of the city for a more unique Hungarian experience as most of the restaurants on Vaci street cater exclusively to tourists.

Local from Budapest, Hungary

With various tram lines and metro stations as well as the main market hall and the so-called shopping street that is Vaci utca, all in short walking distance, this boutique hotel is handily located. At 20 square metres each, the rooms themselves might best be described as compact, but they are spotlessly clean and nicely decorated - which is what you expect from a place that bills itself as a boutique hotel. It’s all the work of increasingly en vogue Hungarian interior designer Csilla Safrany. Your days here will get off to a good start to with a breakfast buffet that puts most other hotel breakfasts to shame. Something a little odd: If you want any toiletries other than shower and basin soap, you will have to ask for them downstairs at reception. But that is a very minor quibble about an otherwise highly recommended property.

Boutique Hotel Budapest (formerly Zara Boutique Hotel Budapest) This hotel is proud of its unique location at the end of the pedestrian Vaci Street, next to the Great Market and the Danube. You do not have to go far to find entertainment, sights and foods of any type to please the palate.

The reception area is narrow but the unique crystal décor over the reception desk will keep you amused. Rooms are a mere 20 m2, but why would you want to spend your day inside when you are in such a location? Decoration is modern with some handsome wallpaper. The overall style is clean and elegant. Bathroom tiling is unique and there is a rainforest shower-head in a very spacious glassed in shower stall.

Breakfast and wifi are included in the room rate. Speaking of room rates found out that for 30 Euros extra you can upgrade to a suite!
