Gorgeous gardens with annual events like Sakura Matsuri. Plenty to see even in the winter. Only critique is that the membership is pretty much useless if you have a job. Almost all events for members are during weekdays and start before 5pm. Boo.

Beautiful gardens and a great place to take visiting friends. A great place to bring a picnic or go on a date. I would love to come back here with my water colors and paint in the park.

Check out the beautiful blooms at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, which offers free admission all day on Tuesdays and Saturdays 10-12 noon. The Garden is open all year long but its best to come in the spring and summer months, where you can peep roses at the rose garden, step into a humid climate in the Tropical Pavilion, and feel at ease in the Japanese garden. Every April, the Botanic Garden hosts a cherry blossom festival, Sakura Matsuri.

This is a must-see for any garden, plant, and/or outdoor enthusiast in New York City. Only a short subway ride from Manhattan is the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It's famous for its Spring bloom, which features a Cherry Blosson garden amongst a lot of other natural landscape. It's also, however, worth a visit year round. In the winter you're able to wander through it's beautiful architecture without the insane crowds. This location is highly recommended for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of New York City.

The garden has the largest cherry blossom trees in one place outside of Japan. There are 42 gorgeous varieties. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden hosts various festivities throughout the year, including Hanami Sakura in May and the Chile Pepper Festival in October. $8 adults, $4 seniors 65+ and students with ID 12+, free for children under 12 (free for everyone all day Tu and Sa 10AM-noon).

This garden was created as an oasis from the city. Each flower was chosen because of its distinct fragrance. So go sniff away!
