This long-standing neighborhood anchor has some of the best pizza in the city. There's a gorgeous back yard, and the bar is solid. There is always a wait. It's worth it.

Top notch pizza with a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
The pies aren’t huge so one wouldn’t cut it for a couple.
I’d recommend going during off hours and in the warmer weather to take advantage of the big outdoor beer garden.
Good variety of food on the menu besides pizza. The Italian hero was tasty and light as far an Italian hero goes!

I had one of the best pizzas of my entire life here. It's a must to get the Honey infused pizza pie aka The Bee Sting (add an egg) !! This is all you need in your life.

Whenever I come to New York I try to come here more than once. It's just such a cool spot with primo pizza and an overall great spot to hang out. Since I first visited several years, they have really expanded the spot with a whole backyard.

They even got a take out spot next to it, which is an important indicator that this place is real good in the neighborhood.

The crust is soggy and the ingredients aren't that fresh. There is nothing Italian about this pizza.

The Bee Sting pizza is the one thing to try. I like how they add honey into their pizza for a hint of sweetness!

Roberta's has incredible pizza, definitely the best I have had so far in NYC. You will find a hipster environment in this crazy good pizza place in Brooklyn.

This place is expensive, and not really my favorite, but there is such a hype and originality about it that it should be explored at least once.

No Bushwick food guide would be complete without Roberta’s. This restaurant known for its pizza put Bushwick on the map, and has hosted everyone from the Clinton’s to Beyonce and Jay Z. Since there are no reservations, you can expect a line - but know the inventive food, interesting crowd, and great outdoor patio will be well worth the wait.

The pizza at Roberta's is probably the most celebrated in New York City and It is exceptional -- not overrated like Grimaldi's. Primarily the haunt of New Yorkers, the atmosphere / vibe is fantastic and the outdoor beer garden is a major plus in good weather. The downside is long waits -- easily 1.5 - 2hrs and maybe longer. Arrive early and opt for outside to shorten your wait (but it is pizza only).

Overall my favorite pie is still at Sottocasa. It is a small neighborhood place with no wait and pizza that is equally exceptional.

Located in a former garage in Bushwick, down in Brooklyn, this hip pizza place is hipsterville central. It's best known for its pizza for a very good reason. It's really tasty and all ingredients are home grown in the adjacent garden - Roberta's Garden. There are two generous indoor rooms for eating and an outside bar with extra seating space. The prices are too high for the location, but the food is definitely good. Make sure you have a reservation, otherwise the wait won't be a short one.

These guys have a terrific sense of humour. NYC is so driven by the latest and the chicest etc. etc. but this place makes a play of its deconstructed charm. Don't be put off by its setting or external appearance. The food is seriously good, but it's obviously not a foodie destination.

I had a long layover at JFK and decided to hit up Roberta for some fresh pies before heading to Europe. I hopped on a taxi (big mistake) and 45 mins later I was dropped off at this industrial neighborhood staring at a building that looks like an abandon warehouse and bear no resemblance to a restaurant.

Inside that door is a complete different world. The decor was rustic and cozy. I was seated at the covered patio and the sunlight was very inviting. Ordered two pizzas off their simple menu and loved both. The crust was crisp yet chewy. The toppings were made of quality ingredients and the flavors were great.

Roberta's pizzas are worthy of the $50 taxi ride.

When it comes to pizza places in New York there are generally two varieties: The classics that have been around for like 75 years or so without really changing anything and the modern places that are out to create something new.

Roberta's is of the modern variety. Located right in the middle of Bushwick with a rustic interior and a garden patio out back they put together incredible pizzas with interesting flavor combinations. I'd recommend the barley legal, which manages to mix broccoli rabe, sausage and horseradish.

A very buzzy place to eat in Bushwick. We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday and finally sat down around 8pm. Great wood fired pizza but don't ignore the rest of the menu. Had amazing Brussels sprouts (!) and chicken confit. The area out back is good for waiting, grabbing a drink and nibbling on small plates.

Out in Bushwick Brooklyn, this pizza and foodie-haven in a former auto-repair shop is a pioneer in urban farming. Excellent food in a setting that recreates a rural vibe in the most urban of places.

One of the best pizza in the world, you must give it a try. Be patient, you will have to wait before getting a table but it is worth it. The crowd is amazing and the ambiance is delightful.
