Fresh, so fresh. I dream about these oysters, locally sourced and the waitstaff are experts for pairings and suggestions. So whether this is your first raw oyster or you're a pro, I bet you will have an awesome meal!

Delicious seafood, oysters and a wide variety of local fish. Great room and bar. Perfect for a concert on nearby Landsdown St or a Red Sox game.

Great seafood, but the menu also offers a variety of non-seafood options. We really enjoyed the weekend brunch!

It's quite pricey, but the oysters and other seafood are very fresh and it is conveniently located next to Fenway so makes for a great place to meetup before or after the game.

Place gets busy for reservations are recommended but not required.

No happy hour

Are oysters aphrodisiacs? This is the place to find out, as Island Creek happens to be one of America’s most romantic restaurants. The muted color palette and massive wall of cages filled with oyster shells were inspired by the sunset over nearby Duxbury Bay—the location of owner Skip Bennett’s oyster farm. He and chef Jeremy Sewall highlight its bounty, along with shellfish from several nearby sources, and work closely with fishermen and farmers to secure local ingredients. The menu credits fellow oyster farmers like Don Wilkinson of Plymouth, Scott and Tina Laurie of Barnstable, and other purveyors by name.

All seafood and drinks are great. Lobster Bisque and the Whole Black Bass were excellent.

Definitely the best oysters I've had during my Boston trip!
Island Creek Oyster owns the restaurant so their house-oysters are less pricey and meatier than the ones I've had elsewhere.

LOCATION: inside a hotel, walking distance from the train station

RESERVATION: is recommended because it is a popular $$$ place to go. We got lucky because we were drinking at The Hawthorne inside the same building and the bartenders got us a seat right away!

POPULAR DISH:
The lobster ravioli. Very very pricey but I had to try what people are raving about. The pasta was savory and they were kind enough to split them in two. But I won't get it again because of the price $30+

Chowder was soupy and not bad

Island creek oysters: YES get it

AMBIANCE:
So much natural light and industrial-ish. You can see the gorgeous oyster bar and you can watch the game at the bar.

Overall I would recommend this place just for the oysters and a good cocktail from The Hawthorne.

Island Creek Oyster Bar is the eponymous offshoot of a family-owned oyster farm in Duxbury, MA. Whatever you get there is super-fresh. My favorite thing to order is the oyster sliders with pickled onion and lime chili aioli.

Having some of the freshest and most mouth watering food options around, you can’t come to Boston without stopping at the Island Creek Oyster bar to eat some great seafood! The restaurant was open to bring together the chef, farm, and restaurant, which shines through in their stellar menu. They offer everything from brunch to dinner and in between, the whole family will love it!

Buttermilk biscuits and lobster omelet for brunch! And oysters, of course -- about a dozen different types. They have a nice selection of wines and probably something like 25 types of beer. The specialty cocktail list is small and novel, though there is a full bar. Attached to the Hotel Commonwealth, this place has a cool vibe - decor is neat and modern, music is eclectic (might be pop reggae one minute, classic rock the next, hip hop another day), and the crowd is hip. The restaurant prints menus daily, having partnered with local fishermen so the seafood is fresh and varied.

It's a great sit-down restaurant with outstanding seafood in close proximity to Fenway. Hence, it makes a great (albeit classy...maybe too classy) pregame to a Red Sox game if you're a foodie. The oysters - at least the namesake oysters - were the freshest I've ever tasted. The lobster roe pasta, as seen in my postcard, was also incredible.

Great atmosphere, great service, great food, and in a great location. Check this out, even if just for a quick Oyster stop, on your stroll through Kenmore towards Fenway!

We had the best oysters ever here at this very contemporary looking restaurant next to the Commonwealth Hotel. The space is large and full of people of every age. The menu offers an extensive range of seafood as well as other items. In addition to oysters, we tried Boston baked beans and fried clams. The wine list is also reasonably extensive and particularly good for seafood friendly wines. Prices were moderate.
