The architecture of this Marriott is quite unique! Walking in, it seems so bright, all the walls were white and it had a high open area with arched balconies. I asked them if the building was originally something else, but nope, it was built for this Marriott. The idea was to make it look like a cruise ship! He said if you see it from afar, it looks like a cruise ship floating on the water. The location is also great for tourists as it is near the Aquarium, Faneuil Hall, and the Freedom Trail. There was a restaurant/bar just outside that seemed really hopping for a Thursday night, with a line to get in. There's lovely park just outside the hotel as well. Other than that, you can expect the usual Marriott amenities.

The Marriott Long Wharf doesn’t feel like a typical Marriott hotel. The lobby is bright and open, and has a sort of European feel to it. The rooms are nice, though not too big. They’re also hypoallergenic and are scented with green tea fragrance. The smell adds to the modern feeling of the hotel. The restaurant at the hotel is pretty big and the prices are high but not too high. The hotel does have a nice looking gym, but I didn’t like how exposed it is. On the whole, the hotel seems reasonable. But I still can’t wrap my head around the price, since rooms go for well over $400 a night. I just feel like there are better hotels in the area you could stay at for that kind of money.

It may be part of a chain, but it feels quite different from other Marriots I’ve seen. For starters, everything in this hotel is generally bright and well-lit, a nice change of pace from so many dull lobbies. All the rooms are allergy-free, and they smell nice, to boot! The lobby is big and the business center, though in an open space, has fast, up-to-date computers. The gym is big and easy to find; the walls are glass and it’s positioned very prominently on the second floor, which could be a problem if you like privacy when you work out, though I wasn’t bothered by it. There’s no extra charge for a view but the top two floors are more expensive. The view isn’t amazing, anyway, but the location is convenient for sightseers.

This is the standard Marriott hotel, but what makes it special is its location. It is steps away from the aquarium and IMAX theater and is across the street from the shopping and restaurants of Faneuil Hall. This is the best place to stay for the New Year's Eve Fireworks and First Night celebrations.

Good central location. Stayed there many times. Good restaurants close by.
