Queenstown, New Zealand

A great place for photos, Quardrilatero is a section of the city full of tiny cobblestone streets and alleys. Along the narrow passageways, you’ll find an outdoor market that sells fresh food and pastries. If you are feeling brave, grab all the ingredients you need to recreate your own Bolognese classics. There are also some great meats and cheeses to try. The market is a bargain, and many of the vendors will let you taste test their wares. At this and other markets, local Bolognese produce sells for much less than you would pay in a restaurant. The mood of the market is intoxicating, and I’ve found it’s a great place to people watch.

One stop shopping for the best of Emiglia Romagna and Italy. The narrow streets are home to an array of stalls that sell wine, cheese, fish, fruit, vegetables, salami, spices, sweets, and pasta. Many of them have a few tables where you can take a break and enjoy a bite to eat.

Just off Piazza Maggiore, the narrow streets of the Quadrilatero market are packed with the delicious foods of Bologna. There are wine stores, cafes, and specialty food stores selling meats, cheeses, pastas, and local delicacies. There are also food stalls selling fresh produce and other products. At night, the Quadrilatero is the perfect spot for Italian happy hour (aperitivo).

Quadrilatero is one of the main food and shopping market areas of Bologna. Local people hang out there every evening. If you want to take a sit, go there before 7pm. After this time this place is very busy and crowded, so you may not find a free space for yourself. Quadrilatero is a great place to observe locals and eat amazing Italian food!

For those coming to Bologna for the first time, a tour of the Mercato del Quadrilatero can not be denied. Ancient buildings, a warm, welcoming, even confusing atmosphere, because the market is a storm of calls, smells, vendors that call you screaming, but it's fun, it's nice, pleasant even in the morning looking out in all this life, do the shopping, buying good, fresh fruit. An incredible place, really!
