This is a popular activity, offering ample opportunity to see exotic marine wildlife and the fabled Green Sea Turtle, which nests on the Big Island. One of the Big Island’s main attractions is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, a simple 2.5-hour trek from the west side of the island. Such an amazing place! I spent four days there and tried to see as much as possible. Volcanoes National Park was definitely the highlight.

This is the island to go if you want to see more of the islands without the big city. Volcanoes, small towns etc.

I first arrive on the Big Island in 2010, for me the remoteness of the islands is refreshing. I've been living on the eastern side, the rainy side. I love the warm days sprinkled with intermittent rain to keep the temperatures from getting unbearably hot. If you are more of a sun worshiper the Kona side of the island might be more your stile with white sand beaches and plenty of sun, it's typical Hawaii! I've been told that we have 11 of the worlds 13 climate zones on the Big Island, there is weather for everyone! We even get snow! Thankfully it is up on the mountain top which you can see looking up from the tropical paradise below.

The most affordable of all the Hawaiian Islands! If you are looking to experience some aloha on a budget your money will go much further here and there is so much to see and do!

Beautiful island. Far more relaxing and slower paced than Oahu. Beautiful views and active lava flows make this island a treat to explore.

They call it the Big Island for a reason... It is big enough that all the other islands can fit inside it. You need some time to fully explore this island.
