This Hutong, aka alleyway, was reconstructed into one of the most popular tourist attractions inside the city of Beijing, with shops selling Beijing style souvenirs great as gifts, food vendors selling drinks and snacks, restaurants, etc. You can easily spend a couple of hours walking around and appreciate this modernized version of hutong, just remember the real hutong is not exactly what you see.

A little off the beaten path of typical tourist spots in Beijing but a great night life and more "western style" of partying

There is a place called Concertino on Ju er Hutong with and amazing selection of imported beers, wines and more at a reasonable price, and the owner is super friendly. My local now! See you there.
Btw, they also have an expresso coffee machine, where you can have cappuccino, expresso and a few others.

One of the most popular Hutongs in Beijing now, beautiful shopping place. Not recommanded to go on weekends, full of young students, sometimes you could hardly walk. There are some really nice boutiques selling pretty scarfs and garment, not cheap.

This hutong seems to cater to a young, hip crowd and a more international one lately. It isn't the most authentic hutong, but it has a lot of eateries, boutiques, and kitschy shopping in general. I was a big fan of some of the young designer shops and the Tibetan restaurants in the area.

A really nice spot to wander around and do a little shopping in pretty little shops:). There're also lots of delicious things to try and eat and when you're finished to walk around the area, you should visit the nearby bell and drum tower of Beijing.

NLGX is a really cool street to go down. Lots of yummy food - try the yogurt place and I loved the churro sundae - and cute shops.

The modern hutong. The renovated hutong. Call it what you will, but I call it good fun. There are bars, restaurants, and boutique shops lined up in this alley. Sure it's not a real hutong experience, but you'd only go through a hutong if you want to mess around someone's front doorsteps. Businesses come and go but the vibe is still the same.

This pedestrian street is amazing, one of Beijing's best spots: Even if the Subay is not very close, you can walk south from Andingmen Station of Line 2 or walk north from the Forbidden City. This street has been turned into a pleasant and peaceful place to walk, rest, eat and shop. Almost anything can be found here, including public toilets, free wifi and lots of street food.

It's getting to be a little touristy. But a nice walk to enjoy the ambiance of old Beijing hutongs and do some shopping. The shops here are not cheap. But you can find some interesting, better quality gifts for others or for yourself.

At Nanluoguxiang, make sure you try the yogurt shop (there will be a long line, so you won't miss it) and the grill chicken wing shop. Around the Nanluoguxiang area, you can also find drum and bell towers, and Houhai. So build your itinerary around that.

This street is a must visit when you are in Beijing. This street houses some of the most interest bars in town, it is also close to Houhai and thus it is something you can also do!
