Parc de la Ciutadella is one of many parks in Barcelona and is home to the castle of 3 dragons. Recommended site for backpackers, explorers, and outdoorsy types.

This park is just a 5min walk from my flat so I come here often, and I still can't get enough. It's filled with open space, beautiful trees, and stunning architecture. There is always a good mix of people enjoying the day in various ways. Plus, the park is a venue for many events throughout the year. I'm always know it'll be a good day when I see the food trucks and beer tents setting up.

A really nice park, where trees grow in the water. There are plenty of trees to hide under on a hot summer day.

Majestic steps. Great view from the top. Walk down a little further to see a giant mammoth. Kids will love the colourful balloons being sold.

This is one of my favourite parks in the city. Every day of the year it's filled with all kinds of people - families celebrating their kids birthdays, tourists on bicycle tours, youth practicing acrobatics and people doing tap dancing in the bandstand. Whatever you like, whether its picnicking, rowing on the boating lake or listening to African drumming, this park has something for everyone. At one end you'll find Barcelona Zoo and at the other you'll find an impressive waterfall, the boating lake and a giant mammoth statue. There are also two small outdoor cafes where you can buy snacks and drinks.

Living next to the Parc Ciutadella, I've seen all sorts of action there over the years. Acroyoga classes, tango sessions, a Swan Lake ballet performance, elderly locals playing ping pong. The majestic Parc Ciutadella - complete with several green areas, a beautiful lake for rowing, a zoo, and an enormous water fountain - make it a place to experience the great outdoors, without having to sweat it. The most popular activities are regular yoga classes, and drumming circles. If you're on a budget, set up your own picnics here. Everyone does it, and it's highly encouraged.

The park of the city is a pure gem. You do not need to pay to see the stunning lake with dragons sculpture, walk into the greenhouse, admiring the wonderful Castle of the 3 dragons, and much more. Also, for who has kids: here you can access to the Barcelona zoo!

At only 20 minutes by foot or 5 minutes by taxi, the central park of the city with a greta fountain of Gaudi, also a relaxing space previous to the historic city.

Some strange people inside. Nothing special. But there is a playground... With a special service with cool outdoor toys.

This still remains one of the first things I think about when I look back on my time in Barcelona. The park's fountain is regal and impressive. It's a great place for a stroll or picnic!

This park was located right next to my university, so I had to walk through it to get to school every day. It's a great park-- lots of people lounging around, a zoo nearby, lots of kids and dogs lounging about. A place to people watch and eat a picnic if you're nearby, but not so extraordinary as to go out of your way to visit it. There's also a great fountain that's pretty majestical.

Perfect for an afternoon stroll, a morning breakfast or even for an evening run. Stunning park with beautiful details placed all over the endless passages. Definitely a must see for anyone seeking refugee from the busy La Rambla.

We passed through the park de la ciutadella to go to the barcelona zoo, it's a very nice large park where jogging or cycling are perfect. We got very excited to rent a bicycle from the shop in front of the gate, but when we knew it was forbidden inside the zoo we've let it go.

This park is one big playground for the city’s residents – adults and children alike. With its shady paths, grassy areas, waterfall, boating lake and life-size woolly mammoth (kids can't resist scaling its tusks), this is the place to head when you need a break from your city break. If you have toddlers or young kids, don’t miss the ‘Ludoteca’ play area – an outdoor space where they can romp around to their heart’s content with the toys provided for free. Take a tapas picnic and soak up the afternoon sun.

Really near the house: walking in 15 minuts and by bus (41 or 14) 5 minuts, stop Parc de la ciutadella.

Probably the most beautiful public park I've ever seen. And I'm from NYC! I personally think this park trumps Central Park. There's something to see here with every corner you turn. Lots of places to sit and people watch. It's great.
