This place lives up to all the hype. Once you've been, you'll clearly see why Anthony Bourdain recommends this place. They serve delicious little pintxos and tapas here. I would come back to Barcelona just to eat here if I could.

It's standing room only with a couple of standing tables pushed to the sides so come early if you want a table. You can also grab a standing spot at the bar too. It gets really packed later on in the day.

There's lots to choose from here and all the ingredients put together for each little pintxo is uniquely exquisite! I recommend getting items that stand out to you with flavors and/or ingredients that you know you'll like and being adventurous and trying new things too. It's easy to try different things because they're all almost bite-sized, so it's not a huge waste if you end up not liking it.

We had a very nice bartender/server who recommended a variety of pintxos to us. My favorites were the pâté pintxos. The salmon, sea urchin, and scallops ones were good too.

One of Barcelona's most iconic tapas bars, this place has been going for years and has become a favourite with both travellers and locals. I like the simplicity of this place, which basically only has standing room and serves montaditos (like small sandwiches). Dishes range from €4-11, meaning that many of the plates are good value for money. Like many tapas places, it's best to go with a group so you can share and try as many things as possible.

MUST go to hands down, best tapas on the planet. Tiny place, huge character, don't bring kids as there's no seating and it's much more of an adult place anyways. Plus who doesn't need a date with no kiddies now and then ;)

This was mine and Tims favorite tapas place! It is a favorite of locals and I think Anthony bordain. It's a very small bodega-like bar with tables that everyone stands around and order any drink you could imagine and all different tapas prepared right in front of you. They are amazing and the atmosphere makes it.

After reading amazing reviews and receiving a recommendation, we decided to come to Quimet & Quimet for some tapas action during our visit.

The place was crazy packed even on a weekday. You have to squeeze yourself in somewhere since the restaurant is very small. The service is quite good though and they really try to get to everyone.

There are no hot dishes on the menu and there was no cooking going on. Everything you order is put together on the tapas bar and you get your dishes very quickly. We tried several of the montaditos that they are famous for. They were good but quite filling. The bread was so crispy and hard but the toppings were delicious.

I would stay away from the mussels. They are pickled cold mussels. I found the texture to be kind of gross. I also tried their bacalao (fish) croquettes and that was pretty good.

They have a good wine and beer selection. In fact, they have a house beer with the restaurant namesake. The lady serving us tapas on the bar recommended it and it was actually pretty good.

I didn't love this place this much as other reviewers do but it is an authentic tapas experience even though there are a lot of tourists eating here. It's worth a try if you happen to be close by.

Paying a visit to this most hallowed temple of tapas is almost obligatory when in Barcelona. It’s standing room only at this tiny venue, but don’t let that put you off. Gourmet creations line the bar – just point to what you want and wait to be blown away (the salmon is especially good). After you’ve downed your fill, head around the corner to the pedestrianised and always lively Carrer Blai, to continue the Poble Sec tapas and bar hopping tour with the locals.

Located on a small, out-of-the-way street, this tiny restaurant serves some of the best tapas in Barcelona. It gets crowded and counter/table space is in limited supply, but patience will be rewarded.

Quimet & Quiment is a small seafood bar with a stunning selection of high-quality Basque delicacies. Basically, you walk in and order at the counter, and then take your plate of seafoody-goodness to a small table or bar to enjoy. Not really a sit-down place, per se. There is a very casual atmosphere, and only spanish and french is spoken as far as I could tell. However, I don't think that should be a problem as you can point at the counter to whatever catches your eye. Highly recommended, I don't think I've had such great seafood since!

If you visit Barcelona, save one lunch for this place. The cold tapas is excellent. Creative little tapas with great combinations of cold cuts, cold fish, breads and crackers... my description sounds lame, but believe me that every tapas I ate was an explosion of flavors.
